How to Find “Hidden” Time for What You Love

As I mentioned a few months ago, I’m getting back into figure skating and taking it more seriously. Johnny and I have taken time out of our busy schedules to make it to the ice rink and practice for at least an hour every time. I’m not going to lie, it’s not easy. Between work, family time and caring for my Dad who has a traumatic brain injury, finding “hidden” time is extremely tricky. Many of us have been asked the question, “If you had an extra hour a day, how would you spend it?” For me, without a doubt, the answer would be figure skating.

In this post, I’m going to share three steps you can take to find hidden time for what you love. You can use this time to pursue a hobby, learn a new skill, spend it talking to your parents if you live far away from them… the possibilities are endless!

My Favorite Green Smoothie & Walmart’s Grocery Pickup

Most mornings, I kick things off with a delicious and healthy green smoothie. I’m so excited to share the highly-requested recipe with you today! I make enough for both me and Johnny and this usually serves as our breakfast. Sometimes, I’ll soft boil two eggs for myself to add a bit more protein to my breakfast but this smoothie is enough to get me going. It is hands down my favorite green smoothie recipe. I make a lot of smoothies for us since we usually drink one a day. Even though I usually can estimate how much of each ingredient I need for the week, between the three or four different smoothies I make, I tend to run out of ingredients midweek. Y’all know I love efficiency and when technology can make lives better and easier, I’m all for it. Walmart’s Grocery Pickup is a bit of a gamechanger because you can order your items online or using their mobile app.

My Mom’s Wedding Ring :: Designing A Diamond Ring with JamesAllen.com

I’m so excited to share this post with you! For years, getting my Mom a diamond ring has been a big goal in my family. I’m so thankful to partner with JamesAllen.com to create the ring of her dreams. As someone who loves to shop online, buying my Mom’s diamond ring online seemed natural. What I love about buying her ring from James Allen is the vast inventory of diamonds. They have more than 200,000 earth-created and lab-created diamonds. It was so easy for us to find the perfect oval diamond for my Mom.

Always Earning :: Why I’m Taking Figure Skating Seriously Again

Through competitive figure skating, I learned grit, hard work, self-motivation, how to overcome fear and the power of consistency. I stepped away from competitive figure skating nine years ago. But recently I realized something was missing from my life: the feeling of flying I can only get when figure skating. Since I got Johnny a pair of figure skates for Christmas, we’ve been enjoying going skating here and there, so much so that I’ve made a goal to start skating regularly and re-learn some of the tricks I loved to do so much.

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Chase to share how their Chase Freedom Unlimited Card will make sure I’m always earning on my figure skating journey. I’ve used Chase credit cards for years and adding the Freedom Unlimited card to the mix was a no brainer.

Watching Stars on Ice :: A Former Figure Skater’s Take

Wearing a simple navy blue-button down over a white t-shirt and black slacks, Nathan Chen flies across the ice to a self-choreographed program. The crowd inside the NYCB LIVE’S Nassau Coliseum is entranced by him as he completes his program, set to a song titled “Next to Me” by Otto Knows. This was the third time I’ve gotten to see Nathan skate live and it’s obvious he has gotten better each time.Nathan, along with some of America’s top figure skaters, are on tour with Stars on Ice. The tour will be stopping in 13 cities and bringing world-class figure skating to crowds across the country. As a former figure skater, it’s always a treat to watch skating of this caliber in person. As I mentioned in this previous post, Johnny and I happened to be in New York City the few days before the show’s Long Island stop for work. Figure skating will always be a big part of my life, so I’m excited to share my Stars on Ice experience.
