Spring is here and it’s time to host! Whether you’re inviting 10 people over or just one or two, I think it speaks volume to set the table and pull out the pretty napkins. Not only will it make things feel a little more special, but give you something to smile about. Growing up, my Mom always waited for a special occasion, that almost never came. She never wore the nice jewelry or the nice dress… and then one day when I was 19, our house was burglarized. All those nice things she was saving… they were gone and the worst part was she never got to enjoy them. It taught me a lesson about “romanticizing” the every day and not waiting to enjoy the finer things. Every day should be special. Don’t wait! So here is a colorful spring table to brighten up the mood whether you’re just ordering take out or making a grand feast.

If you love color, don’t shy away from it! I think being strategic is key here so you can easily mix and match. I love these sage green napkins for a colorful spring table. They are ultra thick, plush and go with so many other colors! For example, you can pair them with clear glasses like I did here or even these vivid blue glasses. Beyond spring, this particular color will be beautiful for fall and winter table settings, too!
To enhance the green, I added this steel blue runner. It’s linen, easy to care for and adds texture to your table. You can pair it with a tablecloth or just drape over your table like I did here!
Since I’m all about color with this tablescape, but am short on non-seasonal napkin rings I used gold silk ribbon I had leftover from our wedding.

Finally, to finish off your spring table, head to Trader Joe’s and pick up some fresh flowers and arrange them yourself! This is always so therapeutic to me and I love putting arrangements together. While they are never on the same level as my friend’s who is a professional florist, I love to dabble and see what I can come up with! Plus, it’s an inexpensive way to really take your table to the next level!
