We truly love living in this Dallas apartment. It’s the first place Johnny and I truly shared and lived together and I’m thrilled to be bringing you along on this apartment photo tour! You’ll get to see all the rooms, how we styled them and made it work functionally. Apartment living isn’t always easy since you can’t do a ton of customization when you’re renting. There were a lot of storage options we wanted to do but they involved nails and we really like getting our deposit back. Even though we’ve only lived here about 17 months, we’ve loved every moment and truly believe you should love where you live. I hope this inspires you to make a few changes, whether big or small, to love your home!

LIVING ROOM
The open-concept floorplan and how there are windows in every room sold us on this Dallas apartment. It’s not the biggest space, but we were able to make it work for us and I won’t lie, having it be so bright helps with the illusion of it feeling bigger sometimes. We used furniture to “section” off the room and draw a clear line of what’s the living space and what’s the kitchen. I don’t usually like floating a sofa in the middle of the room in an apartment but made it work here since we had no choice.
One of our most asked questions is where our sectional is from. It’s from Article and is actually a sleeper sofa with storage in the chaise. It sets the tone for our entire apartment and makes it elevated and cozy! Check out this post for an in-depth review and how we ordered it completely online without seeing it first! We love the neutral gray tone and how it holds up well.
I centered my favorite piece of furniture, our storage coffee table, in the living room. My first piece of big-girl furniture, I love how you can throw things inside to keep them hidden and lift up the top to transform your living room into a work area or dinner spot while watching TV. Speaking of TV, we recently got a Samsung Frame TV (lowest price I’ve seen for 65″) and it is life-changing. We love how it looks like a framed photo. You can choose from the free art collection or upload your own photos. We plan on mounting it in our new home! I’ve grabbed famous art prints for free from the National Gallery of Art. Check other museums, too.
Since we have so many windows in our apartment, finding a spot for our fiddle leaf fig plant, Frank, was easy. We recently put him in this rope basket and love how it adds that polished look. He’s still in his watering planter to make things easy, though.

KITCHEN
Easily our favorite room in the entire Dallas apartment. This kitchen had us the moment we walked in. It was nighttime and dark, but we saw the potential. I love the big island, white cabinets and brass hardware and fixtures. When we first moved in, we only had two barstools, different dining chairs and it was just different. We did purchase these black leather bar stools with the intention of putting them in the new house, but they look so good in our Dallas apartment. Since we are in an apartment, we could not install drawer systems requiring nails. So this meant we need a lot of sliding drawers, food storage containers, stacking bins and turntables to make it work.
I keep the island clear for cooking or as a “catch-all” for items coming into our home. I have literally dreamed and lusted after this dipped jar for years and finally got it! It’s perfect for fresh florals. Speaking of, these gorgeous fresh floral arrangements in our apartment are from Something Pretty Floral, which normally caters to events and weddings. However, because of the pandemic, they have changed their business model to do flower delivery in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Be sure to reach out to them and mention me if you need flowers. They definitely brighten up a room!

BEDROOM
This bedroom has been a challenge for us. Unlike other bedrooms I’ve lived in where there was one obvious spot for the bed, in this one…it was just odd. The window we currently have the bed against now was not centered. We installed one long curtain rod in the center of the room to fake a centered window. For a while, we had our bed centered on the other wall (see here), which actually did make the room feel bigger. However, the shelf we installed and the overall layout was a little hard. We moved the bed back a few weeks ago and while Johnny insists the bed feels smaller, I know it was the right choice. Plus, the room just looks more aesthetically pleasing this way!
An item I lusted after for a while was this tall velvet headboard. It took quite some time to arrive, but it was absolutely well worth the wait. I got the performance velvet in dove gray and it’s absolutely beautiful! The perfect color to balance out our room and will go with whatever bedding or color scheme I choose! We have it on top of a Leesa platform bed with our Leesa king-size mattress on top. If you happen to be in the market for a mattress, I couldn’t recommend Leesa more. A full review of why we love this mattress on this blog post.
Our final bedroom hack is changing out the hardware on your furniture! Our nightstands are about $130 but the knobs they came with are just awful. We swapped them out for these acrylic and gold knobs and they look so much more expensive! I highly recommend doing this with furniture and it’s always something you can change as time goes on!

BATHROOM
This bathroom is one of my favorites. I love the colors, the finishes and the layout! There is actually a standalone shower and a tub with a shower facing the double vanity. I got two sets of under-sink storage drawers to really get a handle on my beauty products, cleaning tools and other essentials. I like to keep my essentials corraled on a tray in the middle so products are ready to go! It’s also a quick way for me to convince Johnny to let me put a few serum drops on his skin, hehe! Other items we permanently keep on the counter include my light-up sensor mirror (currently on major sale for $130, originally $250), best-smelling soap with pumice and an apothecary jar for our cotton items.
We recently got new bath towels and I am in love. The black piping adds a nice contrast and we love how there is a ring to hook the towels on. Plus, they are super plush and soft. I got HIS and HERS writing for our master bathroom and got CLEAN for our future guest bathroom in the new house. For a little fun touch, I got these navy makeup towels with lashes on them! They definitely stand out in this Dallas apartment bathroom.
We love to keep our countertops clear in the bathroom, just like the kitchen. Under the sink is where all the magic is. I have lots of sliding drawer systems (no nails required) to keep everything organized from bobby pins to medical supplies. I couldn’t recommend these specific systems more because they are made of mesh so even if you toss in something that’s damp, it’ll properly dry out and you don’t have to worry about mold. You can use other plastic pins to keep cleaning products in order and any towels, too.
While I love the functionality of electric outlets, I literally hate how they look. If I can, I’ll cover them with art or faux florals. This print was a gift from Johnny and it keeps the outlet hidden while still giving me easy access to it.

GUEST BATHROOM
I feel so lucky to have a full second bathroom in our Dallas apartment. It’s perfect for guests to use without having to go through our Master Bedroom. There’s a full shower and it’s a perfect size. I prefer things simple and clean lines. I love a little cheeky print in the bathroom and this one has a nice reminder in a fun way! In bathrooms, I like to hide outlets if at all possible. Here, I’m using faux eucalyptus stems. Click below to shop our guest bathroom details!
