Fall Tones for His & Her :: Olive Dress + Navy Button Down

I’m truly a summer forever type of gal, especially after moving to Coastal Virginia. However, I do have to admit, I’m excited about fall’s arrival! Since it’s still quite warm in Virginia, I’m sharing some ways you can incorporate fall into your wardrobe without sweating it out. Some of my favorite fall colors this season include olive, navy, rich golds and of course, burgundy. I love wearing fall tones in summer silhouettes and pieces. Also, I cannot believe it’s been 16 years since the terrorist attacks on our country. I remember sitting in fifth-grade homeroom and our teachers turned on the TV. We watched the second plane crash into the Twin Towers live and while i was young, I knew nothing would be the same.

This olive dress looks very similar to dresses made by an expensive designer, but costs less than $100! J.O.A is one of my favorite labels because of the quality and their collection of both trendy and classic pieces. The off the shoulder silhouette keeps me cool, but the color screams fall. Plus, I love the asymmetrical neckline and decorative buttons. Its rich olive color makes this dress is the perfect way to wear fall tones, while staying cool in the summer. This dress is currently on sale for 40 percent off, which is a steal! Read more…

Endless Summer :: Striped Two-Piece Set

Happy Monday, y’all! First up, I’m on day eight of my work marathon week and still going strong, I think! We are a bit short staffed at the station, plus with it being August, folks are taking their well-deserved vacations. Therefore, those of us who are on deck are really really working, ha! Speaking of, I cannot believe we are halfway through August! Luckily, living in Coastal Virginia means summer lasts beyond the official end date. If I’m not working, I love dressing as if I’m on vacation because let’s face it, I kind of am. This striped two-piece set is to die for and absolutely perfect for summer. Plus, it’s a complete steal at only $33! The fabric is linen, which I adore during summer. However, something to keep in mind is there is no stretch in the fabric. This set also comes in blue and white stripes. Read more…

Summer White :: Off the Shoulder Midi Dress

Happy Monday Y’all! White dresses are my favorite during the summertime and I’m loving this ivory check off the shoulder midi dress. Especially right now as Coastal Virginia is having a huge heat wave! Plus, it helps you look tan. This dress is part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Of course, I love the off the shoulder neckline. However, I also am continuing to enjoy slightly longer lengths when it comes to dresses and skirts. I’m only 5’3, but with a little help from the sash that comes with this dress, I’m able to blouse it a little and make it a good length. This would be a great dress for brunch, especially if you choose outdoor seating. Let the sun give your shoulders a glow, while the rest of your body can stay cool. Read more…
