Leaf-Shaped Lace Dress for Fall :: Greetings from Charleston

Happy Monday and October Y’all! Greetings from Charleston, South Carolina! My sister is visiting me for a few days, so we decided to take a road trip somewhere fun. Charleston immediately came to mind! Plus, the drive is less than seven hours, so it’s not too bad. I will be posting a full travel guide shortly and I cannot wait to share my favorite spots!

With October’s arrival, there is no doubt fall is here. This navy and pink leaf-shaped lace dress is a pretty pick for fall. The lace is beautiful and unique because of the leaf shape but also doesn’t catch or run easily. The navy collar gives this dress a polished-off look, which makes it office appropriate. Read more…

A Little Fancy :: Mint Frill Sleeve Embellished Dress

Mint is a color I easily fall for. During college, I had this obsession with the color and owned mint everything. I have since scaled back but still adore it. If you are looking for something a little fancy, let it be this mint frill sleeve embellished dress. The completely embellished neckline is extremely well done and looks lovely. Also, the stones sparkle just right, making this an elegant look for any cocktail party or fancy function. Y’all know I love a statement sleeve and these frill sleeves are just perfect. They aren’t too big, while having the cutest ruffle detail. Plus, since the sleeves are three-quarter-length, they won’t get in your way regardless of whether you’re eating or trying to shake hands. That’s always a huge plus in my book, especially if I’m at an event and I want to network and meet new people!  Read more…

Double the Denim :: Embroidered Romper + Button Down

Hey Y’all! I hope you had an awesome weekend and your week is off to a great start! I’m coming off of a super productive weekend, especially since the Air Show was in town. Some of y’all may recall last year, I had the incredible honor of flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Check out my post to see if I passed out, how many G’s I could handle and my favorite part of the flight!

I’m doubling up on the denim in today’s post because it’s one of my favorite fabrics. This denim embroidered romper is a stunning piece. It’s currently on sale for less than $53 and looks so much more expensive than it really is. Also, I love how you can dress it up or down and throw on a super soft cardigan or leather jacket when temperatures drop. Wear it to brunch on the weekends or even out on date night. The straps are completely adjustable so this romper fits me like a glove. I definitely get compliments each time I wear it because the embroidery is so well done. Plus, I love the scallop detailing on the neckline. Read more…

Mondays in Of Mercer :: Beacon Dress with Pockets

Happy Monday Y’all! I hope my friends who live in and near the Texas Gulf Coast are doing okay. I know so many areas are flooded and the devastation is horrible. That’s something I’m unfortunately a little too familiar with living and reporting in Coastal Virginia. A few Norfolk-based helicopter squadrons are heading toward Houston and I know they will help save lives.

To kick off the work week, I’m sharing this printed work dress with pockets by Of Mercer. This is a great transitional piece for the office as summer starts to wind down. This stretch fabric is incredibly soft and feels like a comfy sweatshirt. Now, who doesn’t like that in a dress we wear to work for at least eight hours? Plus, this is ideal for me as a reporter when I’m out in the field. However, this dress is also great for those who need to travel for work and look professional while being comfortable.  Read more…

Mondays in Blue :: Polka Dot Blouse & Stretch Suede Skirt from Lulus

Happy Monday y’all! Boy, was it nice to have some time to myself this past weekend! Thanks to Johnny, I am full force into the Defenders on Netflix. So full force, in fact, I finished the whole show, ha! Weekends are usually a time for me to work on my blog and get set for the week ahead. However, we all need to unwind and “do nothing” sometimes and I did just that.

I enjoy starting off the week in a powerful outfit. While I usually wear dresses, sometimes I enjoy mixing it up. I usually turn to Lulu’s for trendy clothes, but they have quite a few pieces you can wear to work and look young and fresh. This blue polka dot blouse is fun and flirty with the tie neckline, but in a conservative silhouette. I love the polka dot print and light fabric, which is perfect for summer but keeps the chill off your arms in cold offices. I’m styling it with an ultra soft light beige suede skirt. Pencil skirts aren’t always the stretchiest, but this one is stretchier than some of my workout clothes. Plus, it fits like a glove and the hem is an elegant length. For the weekend, this blue polka dot blouse would be great with white jeans or shorts. Read more…
