The Swimsuit You Need :: White High-Waisted Bikini

I’m a big fan of color, which is why this blog is called Color & Chic. However, every once in a while I do love neutrals, especially white. I have a big soft spot for a good white bikini, particularly a white high-waisted bikini. The pom poms on this bikini really add a fun touch but aren’t too much to where this bikini will be out of style soon. This is the swimsuit you need this summer because it’s a classic with a twist. The triangle top is flattering, even for smaller busts. While the high-waisted bikini is great for lengtheningĀ the legs and slimming you down. I’m wearing an XS in both the top and bottoms. The top fits well and would certainly still work for those who are more endowed than me. The bottoms are a perfect fit, too! This high-waisted bikini definitely fits true to size. Read more…

Traveling to the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics :: Trip of a Lifetime

Johnny and I are so excited to announce we are taking the trip of a lifetime to the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics! Being able to witness a Winter Olympics has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. A five-year-old version of me fell in love with figure skating during a Dallas Galleria Christmas Ice Show. I begged my parents to take me skating, but they didn’t have the money. Plus, they thought my fascination would go away. It didn’t. Three years later, I’m still begging, so my older sister decided to take me. It’s going to sound so cliche, but it was love at first step. I wouldn’t get off the ice. To me, skating feels like flying. A few competitions later, my family and I started to take figure skating very seriously. That is how an 11-year journey starts… Read more…

Comfy Tie-Sleeve Sweatshirt for Fall

Happy Monday Y’all! While you’re reading this, I’m most likely in Puerto Rico, doing a story on a local foundation doing disaster relief there. I previously got the chance to fly to Texas with this same foundation when they provided relief to Hurricane Harvey victims. I know Puerto Rico will be a lot different and I’ll be sure to share it with y’all soon!

Sweaters have a really soft spot in my heart. I seem to collect more each season, yet they are all unique and different from one another. This olive tie-sleeve sweatshirt is cropped and super soft. As you may know, cropped silhouettes are great for petite ladies. This one hovers around my belly button and I’m 5’3 with an average torso length. I love the casual feel and slightly oversize look. Plus, you can also wear it off one shoulder, if you like! The fabric is a cozy knit that’s 100 percent cotton, so you know it’s soft. The raw-cut edges are a nice touch, too, especially for fall. Tie-sleeves are really on trend right now and these scream boho chic. This olive tie-sleeve sweatshirt would be great with a cute velvet or corduroy skirt, too. Also, this sweatshirt comes in ivory and blush, so olive isn’t the only color. Read more…
