How to Style A Mint Green Cardigan for Fall and Winter

Given that temperatures are dropping in the western hemisphere and winter is starting to creep up, I want to share how to style a mint green cardigan for fall and winter. Plus, Norfolk just had the Grand Illumination Parade, trust me it’s a really big and bright deal, so that means Christmas is right around the corner! Mint green is traditionally more of a spring and summer color. I remember back in 2012, pining for all things mint, whether it was a good blouse or pair of mint gingham pants (holy crap, what a throwback to an embarrassing, younger version of me!). Mint is still a great color to wear but I can understand the challenges of styling it for fall and winter.

A Trip to Hunt Club Farm during Fall

Living in Virginia for the past few years, Hunt Club Farm is quite the staple. The moment fall arrives, or even a little before, families flock there to buy pumpkins, let their kids enjoy the rides or attend the haunted festival. It’s definitely a destination for families looking to get into the fall spirit and a big part of the Virginia Beach community. Johnny and I love to get out and explore what’s around us, so this was definitely on our list of places to visit! We definitely had fun and even ran into a few Color & Chic readers!

Pink Crochet Cropped Top & Hydrangeas for Summer

Happy Monday, y’all! I can’t believe July is already here. I love finding fun tops for summer and this pink crochet cropped top is no exception. As a petite gal, I love the cropped silhouette because it fits me perfectly. The boho style crochet is fun and romantic, which is perfect for summer. The crochet is very well made and I can definitely see the quality in how the crochet was done. Some of the patterns in the crochet are so feminine, I can’t help but swoon. This crochet cropped top has a bit of a flare to it, which is super flattering. Plus, I just think about how I can wear it to lunches and dinners and eat all I want, ha! While this top has straps, I highly recommend wearing a strapless bra since the crochet is see-through in the straps. However, this top is lined through the chest so that’s a plus.

Heart on My Sleeve :: Heart Patch Sweater & Warm Boots

Those who know me personally can tell you I love to wear my heart on my sleeve most of the time. That’s why this heart patch sweater is perfect for me! The fabric of this sweater is unbelievably soft. It’s very stretchy and has that perfect slouchy look. You may remember I prefer sweaters with higher necklines because they can really keep the wind at bay. While this is heart patch sweater is certainly festive for Valentine’s Day, it’s perfect for the rest of winter and then for next Holiday season! It’s a great layering piece since you can wear a base layer underneath for extra warmth and then throw a cute vest over top.

Hearts of Pom :: Knit Your Love Cardigan

Happy Monday Y’all! I’m going to be honest, I did not watch the Super Bowl, but I do love the Eagles win because they’re underdogs! A good underdog story is always appealing to me. Perhaps it’s because almost every time I competed I was the underdog.

I’m sad Punxsutawney Phil predicts another six weeks of winter! I don’t mind winter, but I would like for temperatures to be warmer than the 30s! Plus, I’ll be getting plenty of that in PyeongChang and Gangneung when Johnny and I are there for the 2018 Winter Olympics! That’s where this wine knit your love cardigan comes in handy. The pom poms are in a heart shape, so this is perfect leading up to Valentine’s Day. Plus, it’s 100 percent acrylic, which is a nice cozy and warm fabric. This is a great layering piece, whether it’s over a tank, like I am here, or with a thinner sweater. Keep in mind, this piece is hand knit, so there are some gaps where wind can cut through. This isn’t the warmest cardigan, but it’ll do for mild winter temps.
