rsTheCon 2018 Takeaways & a Little Red Romper

A few weeks ago, you may recall a stream of photos from me and some of your favorite bloggers in Dallas using the hashtag #rsTheCon. rewardStyle is a monetization platform I use, along with thousands of other bloggers, every single day on Color & Chic and my Instagram. Many of you are familiar with LiketoKnow. It, which is how you shop my Instagram. However, LTK is a tool developed by rewardStyle, which gives me and other digital bloggers the ability to earn money through my blog and social media channels.  The story of the two entrepreneurs who started rewardStyle in 2011 is a great one. Amber Venz-Box, who ran a blog, would hear from her readers they were purchasing the clothes she was wearing. But she wasn’t able to earn any money off the hard work she put in. That’s not exactly a good business model. That’s how rewardStyle was born. Read more…

Two-Way Crop Top with Pleated Pants + Fall of Saigon

Today is the 43rd Anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. It’s the day the Vietnam War ended with the wrong winners and Vietnam became a communist country. Romantic Vibes :: Floral Kimono with Classic Black Pumps

There is something so romantic about florals and beautiful sweet treats. When I first saw this pink tone floral kimono, I knew I had to have it. The mix of soft pinks with touches of vibrant magenta along with the silky fabric is ultra feminine. This is a great piece for spring and summer since you can easily throw it over tops or dresses. This floral kimono only comes in one size, so I can see how this piece can be too long on those who are extra petite. Fortunately for me, the length isn’t too long and is quite sophisticated. It hits a few inches above my ankles and I keep the kimono open to help elongate my body. Read more…

Heart on My Sleeve :: Heart Patch Sweater & Warm Boots

Those who know me personally can tell you I love to wear my heart on my sleeve most of the time. That’s why this heart patch sweater is perfect for me! The fabric of this sweater is unbelievably soft. It’s very stretchy and has that perfect slouchy look. You may remember I prefer sweaters with higher necklines because they can really keep the wind at bay. While this is heart patch sweater is certainly festive for Valentine’s Day, it’s perfect for the rest of winter and then for next Holiday season! It’s a great layering piece since you can wear a base layer underneath for extra warmth and then throw a cute vest over top. Read more…

Cold Weather Chic :: Velvet Pants for the Desk to Dinner

I hardly ever wear pants to work, but these navy velvet pants are making me rethink that. It’s no surprise velvet is still living out its moment. I love the lean silhouette of how these velvet pants are cut. There are off-seam pockets, which is a must-have for me. Plus, the way the pants are tailored looks and feels custom. I appreciate the contoured waistband, which helps with fit. I’m wearing a size 00 Petite and it actually runs just a dash big on me. Hence, my belt, which is also big for me, ha! There’s a little bit of smoke and mirrors going on here. Don’t worry, I plan on getting the belt fixed! I’m clearly having some petite girl struggles. While I’d normally consider an alternation job, I’m going to leave these pants alone since they aren’t that big on me. Read more…
