Last year when I moved to Norfolk, I got caught off guard with the humidity. The level of humidity in Hampton Roads is something I have not quite experienced. That is including when I traveled to Baton Rouge for Miss USA! Imagine days where I would be outside reporting all afternoon/early evening and the humidity was pulling strand by strand of hair down into a flat mess. The worst part was not that my hair was straight – it was an awkward wavy chunky straight because the curls have completely fallen out. Does anyone else have this problem? Not to mention, I did not have shiny hair. It was flat and dull. Not exactly how I want thousands of people to view me when they turn their TVs on for the 11 o’ clock news!
I’m taking action against that with the T3 SinglePass Luxe straightening iron. This pretty lady will be coming with me to work on humid days to ensure my hair looks its best. What I love about this curling iron is it will straighten hair in one fell swoop. No need to go back and do the same section over again. I definitely do not have time for that with breaking news. An internal microchip controls the temperature fluctuation and maintains even heat distribution along the plates. That way hair isn’t exposed to unnecessary heat and can stay healthy and strong. This is the secret to shiny hair that’s smooth and soft to the touch, not dry and fried.
This straightening iron can also do soft waves too if you desire. I still haven’t quite mastered that one, but if I do, I’ll be sure to let you know. I’m traditional in the sense I use a curling iron or wand to curl hair. Lately, I have been cutting my hair shorter than before and because of that, I don’t mind straight hair as much. The SinglePass Luxe has five adjustable heat settings and turns off automatically after an hour. An aspect I really like is the 360-degree swivel cord that doesn’t tangle or twist when you are styling your hair.
Happy Wednesday My Beautiful Friends! Yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear because it’s so bright and compliments my skin tone very well. Other than the lilac drape dress, this yellow frill sleeve dress is one of my favorite purchases lately. The shade of yellow is exactly what I look for in a dress: sunny and bright. The silhouette is more of a shift dress, so I might do some alterations to make this more form fitting. I’m wearing a size XS, however, there is still plenty of room in the waist and hips. A friend of mine who is a size 2 tried on this dress and it fit her beautifully! So if you are petite like me, keep in mind alterations will most likely be needed. I am actually considering reconstructing the entire body of the dress to add a waist section and a skirt. We’ll see.
Of course, other than the sunny hue, this frill sleeve dress won my heart because of its feminine charm. The sleeves are similar to bell sleeves but very work appropriate. I am reluctant to wear a true bell sleeve dress to work for fear it may be too much. However, this frill sleeve dress has just the right amount of volume. Not too much, but still enough to wow. I also like how the sleeves are 3/4 length instead of a full long sleeve. When I find a dress I love, I do not mind buying it in multiple colors. Without shame, I bought the sharp black too. This may sound crazy, but I still do not have a black dress I love that isn’t sleeveless. I’m thinking this will fulfill that role. Plus, I just noticed in a rich pinkish red with some texture on the fabric if you are looking for another color.
I love a statement romper I can dress up or down and feel absolutely confident in. Shades of blush and mauve appear to be on everyone’s must-have lists right now, so I’m taking the chance to add a few more to my collection. This trumpet sleeve romper is definitely a head turner and one of my favorite items lately. My obsession with voluminous sleeves continue to grow and the bows on the elbows of these sleeves are just too darling. The mauve color added to the appeal of this romper since it’s so on trend. Plus, it’s a slight variation from its lighter hue sister blush, which I own so much of.
This trumpet sleeve romper only comes in regular sizing, so I took the 2, which is fits like a 0. I wish there was a regular 0 available, which fits like a 00. There is still a little room in the waist and hips for me, but not too much. This romper is unlined, but I didn’t mind. The open back detail is fun and you tie to fasten behind the neck. I will mention the bows on the sleeves can be a little tricky to tie by yourself, but I was able to manage. Another aspect I want to mention are the waist pleats, which make the romper very sharp and chic. You can dress up with heels like I am here, or down with flats or sandals.
If you have been following along for a while, you may have noticed I am a big jewelry fan. I love how jewelry really finishes an outfit. Trollbeads reached out to me about a partnership and after browsing their website I agreed. I love the story behind the company, which started in Denmark in 1976. Back then, it was popular to have a single bead hanging from a leather cord around the neck. That grew into beads on bracelets and thus, the company was born. I love their silver bangle, which fits me perfectly. Being petite, it’s hard to find jewelry proportionate to my frame. I had fun searching for beads for my bracelet and went with the Three Siblings Bead to represent me, my older brother and older sister. I also added the white and pink pearls to my custom cuff. I’ve been enjoying wearing more rings lately and the white pearl and blossom shade rings caught my eye since the colors are perfect for spring.
I’m excited to announce, I am partnering up with Trollbeads to give away both the white pearl ring and the blossom shade rings I am wearing in this post! The giveaway starts Monday, February 20th at 11:00 am EST and ends Tuesday at 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be announced Wednesday morning. To enter all you have to dis:
