Pink Crush :: Velvet Skirt & Lace Blouse

This is one of my favorite looks of all time, shot in one of my new favorite cities. I’m mixing together two of my favorite pieces. This pink velvet skirt is something I reach for when I want to feel confident and beautiful. It’s the perfect mix of sexy and sleek while being elegant and chic. The fabric hugs your curves without being too tight. Plus, velvet is on trend this fall, so I have no doubts you’ll be seeing this skirt more. I previously styled it with a gray sweater here. This pink velvet skirt is perfect if you dress it up for date night or out with friends. I’m wearing a size XS and it fits beautifully. For care, I recommend throwing into the washer on the handwash or delicate cycle. Use cold water and to lay flat to dry, too. Read more…

The Perfect Lightweight Sweater for Fall

Happy Wednesday Friends! Fall may be in full swing, but we still get touches of warm weather here and there. This camel lightweight sweater is the perfect piece to wear now and again later. It’s not too thick, yet the knit is super cozy. Plus, it’s super stretchy and fits like a dream. I’m loving the high-low silhouette, which is flattering on all heights, whether you’re petite like me or super tall. If you are like me and have issues achieving the perfect “front tuck” this is an easy way of getting a similar look without having to mess with your sweater for forever. A lightweight sweater such as this one is perfect for just throwing on and going out the door. There’s no fuss and you’ll know you look chic. I love a good camel sweater in the fall, but this lightweight sweater also comes in ivory and gray. Read more…

Comfy Tie-Sleeve Sweatshirt for Fall

Happy Monday Y’all! While you’re reading this, I’m most likely in Puerto Rico, doing a story on a local foundation doing disaster relief there. I previously got the chance to fly to Texas with this same foundation when they provided relief to Hurricane Harvey victims. I know Puerto Rico will be a lot different and I’ll be sure to share it with y’all soon!

Sweaters have a really soft spot in my heart. I seem to collect more each season, yet they are all unique and different from one another. This olive tie-sleeve sweatshirt is cropped and super soft. As you may know, cropped silhouettes are great for petite ladies. This one hovers around my belly button and I’m 5’3 with an average torso length. I love the casual feel and slightly oversize look. Plus, you can also wear it off one shoulder, if you like! The fabric is a cozy knit that’s 100 percent cotton, so you know it’s soft. The raw-cut edges are a nice touch, too, especially for fall. Tie-sleeves are really on trend right now and these scream boho chic. This olive tie-sleeve sweatshirt would be great with a cute velvet or corduroy skirt, too. Also, this sweatshirt comes in ivory and blush, so olive isn’t the only color. Read more…

A Weekend in Charming Charleston Travel Guide

Charleston has been a dream destination of mine for years. The historic homes, rich culture, southern comfort food and picturesque streets beckon me more and more each year it seems. Being a Texas gal, I love exploring places in the south and my sister and I left with full bellies and a camera roll full of […] Read more…

Coming Up Roses :: Floral Dress with Pockets

I hope y’all aren’t tired of seeing Charleston in these fashion posts because I have one left! I packed extra outfits because of how picturesque everything is. This Kate Spade floral dress with pockets is one of my favorite dresses, ever. Typically, I am not a fan of full skirts, but I couldn’t resist this one! The rose pattern is beautiful with mixes of reds and pinks. Personally, I feel like the black color-blocking really tones this dress down and makes it easier to wear outside of special occasions. If you are heading to a wedding this fall, I highly recommend this dress. I wore this dress for both work, reporting was so easy with the pockets, and for a cocktail dinner. Plus, I threw on my Chanel espadrilles for walking around South of Broad in Charleston in this dress and for a more casual look. Read more…
