In Texas, when the weather starts cooling down, it officially becomes patio and backyard season. But how do you make a blank slate feel like there is more purpose? I’m going to share three ways to easily elevate your backyard decor. Whether you’re just starting a backyard project or looking to make it a place where you can quickly have some friends over this weekend, these are three easy things you can incorporate.
Dining Chairs
Since we added a ton of hardscape to my parents’ backyard transformation we needed the right furniture to make the space comfortable. I’m collaborating with Serena & Lily to freshen up their outdoor dining space. We added these beautiful dining chairs in light dune with performance fabric cushions to our existing furniture for them. I love the slight curve of these chairs and they are lightweight so my parents can easily move them around. We went ahead and got the covers, too. Adding seating is an easy way to elevate your backyard decor.
Patio Umbrella
If you have a west-facing backyard, you know how hot and sunny it can get in the afternoons. Getting some type of shade was critical and this patio umbrella is perfect for our backyard transformation. I wanted light gray to match the custom-poured concrete pavers. That way, we can add color with pillows and let Momma Cung’s plants shine. Personally, I love how lightweight it is and I can easily put it up or down. Whether you place it over a dining table or a set of chairs, a patio umbrella adds shade and instantly elevates your backyard.
Vases
These are my favorite vases and such an easy way to make a space pop! These vases come in two sizes, a small and large. They both will make the room you put them in. I like to alterate between faux and fresh florals or greenery for these. You can either buy both and place them together or in different places. If you want to just get one, I’d recommend the small size since it’s so versatile.
