J.Crew is one of my favorite places to get coats for fall and winter. My very first J.Crew coat was a purchase from 2009. It’s still with me today and looking fabulous. One reason J.Crew coats are such best-sellers is the quality for the price. They are made from incredible wool that’s warm without being overly bulky, not itchy and look fantastic. The weather is only going to get colder, so if you haven’t snapped up one of the best-selling J.Crew coats, now is the time to do it! I know there are so many different styles and it can be overwhelming picking the one that’s right for you. Over the past decade, I’ve amassed quite the collection, so I’ll break down each one so you can buy the one you need.

LADY COAT

SIZE: Petite 00 or 0 depending on the fit you prefer. Get your size for a true fit, or size up one to fit lots of layers underneath. I have been told the armholes can be tight on this coat. If you think this may be the case, size up.
REVIEW: The very first J.Crew coat I purchased and the silhouette I have the most colors in! This coat is a classic style perfect for all occasions. Whether you’re heading to the office, running errands on the weekend in gym clothes or going to a Black Tie event, this coat will be perfect. This coat is the most feminine and preppy out of the styles because of its A-Line shape. The wool lady coat is also one of the coats boasting the longest length, so it’s great to wear over dresses since the hem won’t stick out.

COCOON COAT

SIZE: Petite 00
REVIEW: Easily a best-selling J.Crew coat by far. The cocoon coat is chic, fits perfectly over sweaters, work blazers and casual outfits. First up, this coat has an oversized fit. If you are extremely petite, I would not recommend this coat unless you are okay with it looking very oversized. This coat is pretty similar to its sister, the Lodge. However, the cocoon is roomy in the chest and arm area. One aspect I love about the wool cocoon coat is how the zipper goes all the way up so the cold and wind are really blocked out. I prefer to keep my neck covered in the winter.

CHATEAU PARKA

SIZE: Petite 00 – I’ve heard from others the armholes can run a little tight. This is roomy enough for you to layer over other thick sweaters.
REVIEW: Incredibly warm right off the bat and made of J.Crew’s famous wool. I’ll say it again, these coats are warm without being bulky! This is one of J.Crew’s best-selling coats because of it’s A-line silhouette. I love how there is a hood for rain or snow and the faux0fur is removable, so if you want a more streamlined look, you can snap it on or off. The pockets on the front are quite roomy.
