Last month I created a cozy fall aesthetic shopping checklist, and enjoyed it so much I wanted to make a list specifically for creating a cozier home. Johnny and I spend a lot of time at home due to our families and careers, and it’s important to both of us that it be a place of joy and comfort. And like I mentioned in the other blog post, because fall doesn’t come to Texas until late in the year, we have to create the feeling for ourselves inside. These are 12 favorites I either own or would love to own that inspire fall coziness wherever you live.
Adding a throw blanket is one of the easiest ways to make a cozier home. We have this one from our favorite home store and love it. The wool and cotton blend is lightweight while still being warm, and there’s no pattern more classic and elevated than herringbone. The tassels add a nice bit of texture as well!
Shag rugs, done well, can make do a lot to create a cozier home. The wool in this one is soft and plentiful, but still low pile for that luxe look. I love organic black banding, as well as how each rug is hand loomed by artisans in India.
Shea McGee’s style is all about creating a cozier home, and I truly find her products, like our dining table, to be stunning and high quality. This lamp is absolutely beautiful, especially with the warm brass and antiqued ceramic combination.
Lighting, like scent, can very much impact how you feel in a space. For a cozier home, I like to use bulbs like this in a soft white that creates a calming glow.
Everyone I know who has this blanket, loves it. There is nothing softer or cozier! It’s not as aesthetically pleasing to style as the Arhaus throw, but if you’re looking for something to curl up underneath this fall, I highly recommend it.
I’ve talked about my belief in how scent makes a space and the Pura Smart Fragrance Diffuser before. Pumpkin is, in my opinion, a very difficult scent to get right. Sometimes it can smell too sweet or spicy, but I’m looking forward to trying this oil out!
This knit pillow cover is the very definition of cozy. Rotating accents seasonally like pillow covers can make a big difference in the home, as does texture like luxurious chunky wool.
Pictures of loved ones always make a cozier home. What I love about this frame in particular is that it’s made from sleek acrylic and swivels so you can change your view without changing your photos.
While we’re on the subject of pumpkin, I have to share my favorite fall candle with you! Like I said before, a lot of pumpkin scents are too sweet or spicy, but this one is just right. It’s fresh yet elevated and really envelopes a room.
I love to read any time of year, but I can also admit there’s something particularly cozy about reading during the fall. While you don’t exactly read coffee table books like this one we own cover to cover, its presence is still a stunning nod.
Two is better than one, especially when it comes to coffee table books! This one is particularly appropriate for fall given the dark plaid cover. Plus, Ralph Lauren always make you think of academia, which always makes you think of fall.
Black, white, and gold is a timeless color combination. When paired with marble and metal, like in this frame, it creates a warmth.
