It’s no secret Johnny and I are bookworms, so when one of my sweet followers sent me this bookshelf turned wedding seating chart, I knew we had to recreate it! Vim + Venture and our planner Keestone Events took the concept and made something absolutely stunning for cocktail hour.
The original inspiration was more rustic, and I knew we wanted something more modern and minimal – something you would see in our own home or office. The boxed shelves are one of my favorite details! Nailing down the color was the most difficult decision because our colors were black, white and gold with touches of blush. We knew black would be too dark and white wouldn’t stand out enough, so when Hannah from Vim + Venture suggested a light gray-white ombre, we went for it! The flowers from Something Pretty Floral made it pop even more.
If we had more mental energy, we would have loved to choose a book for each guest/party they could then take home. However, we didn’t have the bandwidth for that, so we went the faux route. Our wedding seating chart included each guest party instead of each individual guest, and then at the bottom of each spine was their table number. A mix of bud vases with simple flowers by Something Pretty Floral accentuated the bookshelves and added texture. To continue the theme, the actual table numbers were designed to resemble book pages! We had Scribbles & Swirls, who did the rest of our paper, create a sheet with the table number and complete it with passages from our favorite books.
We were thrilled our guests loved the wedding seating chart as much as we did! It was the star of the show during cocktail hour. Everyone wanted to take photos in front of it, and loved the interactive nature of finding their book. We are so grateful to all of our vendors who helped bring our wedding vision to life!
