IT’S HERE! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 has officially begun! Icon members can shop now with Nordstrom Ambassadors shopping Aug. 7 and Nordstrom Influencers shopping Aug. 10! I know this sale can get very overwhelming, so I’m hoping this, and many more blog posts to come, can serve as a guide so you can get the items you want and save the most money.
Also, I use this sale a great time to save on brand new items for fall and winter. My best advice for shopping this sale is if you see something you like, buy it now. Items and sizes go very quickly! Plus, thanks to Nordstrom’s easy free shipping and free returns, it’s easy to send back items you don’t want. In years past, I have waited on a few items and then when I decided I want them, to my disappointment, they were gone! However, once you get an item, please be considerate of others and return them ASAP if you don’t want them, that way someone else can get a chance. I’m breaking down my picks into categories to make it easy for you to shop.
Thanks to the new Color & Chic blog redesign, it’s easier to shop my picks than ever. When you see an image with pink shopping tags, you can click on those tags to get information and directly shop that item! You can also hover over the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tab to see a drop-down menu of all my picks organized by category.
Can’t Miss Items
Free People Mockneck Tunic ($84.90): A versatile tunic you can wear with jeans, leggings and even for workwear in more laid-back environments. Love the cream color and how the mockneck means you can layer it to keep warm when it gets cold.
AG The Legging Jeans ($149.90): I get a pair of AG Jeans almost each year during the sale. They are my favorite designer jeans because they are so comfortable, stretchy and fantastic quality. They truly last. Get a pair without distressing and wear for business casual, too.
Vince Camuto Booties ($99.90): A fresh take on last year’s it shoe for fall. I love these because the almond-toe is super flattering, the block heel makes it comfortable and they go with everything!
Topshop Plaid Blazer ($49.90): One reason I love blazers so much is they are fantastic in the office and with casual outfits. Love the plaid fabric on this one and the price point can’t be beaten.
Nike Leggings (59.90): I got these last year and have been keeping my fingers crossed they would come back! These are buttery soft, hold you in without feeling tight and you can style them under tunics, sweater dresses and more to stay warm!
Barefoot Dreams Cardigan ($88.90): I snapped up a Barefoot Dreams cardigan last year and oh my goodness they are worth the hype! I’ve never felt a sweater this soft that isn’t cashmere! Love the new leopard prints this year.
Stuart Weitzman Boots ($499.90): I swear by Stuart Weitzman boots every fall and winter. Yes, they are so expensive, but they are worth every single penny. They actually keep your legs warm, are ultra-flattering and will last you years. Trust me, buy one pair and you won’t need boots for long time. My first pair form 2014 are still going strong.
J.Crew Stretch Blazer ($131.90): I love J.Crew blazers and swear by them. Love this bright fuchsia color and the matching pants you can also get. Unfortunately this color isn’t available in petite so I got regular 00.
Nike Sneakers: I love a good pair of sneakers and these are my favorite out of the Nike selection this year! Sleek, great support and super lightweight. You can’t go wrong!

A Few Favorites…
When I talk about how this sale is the perfect time to get items you can wear year after year, I wasn’t lying. I wanted to share a mix of some new things and things I still absolutely love from previous years.
Size: Wearing size M because they ran out of XS last year. Intended to swap out sizing but the medium wasn’t bad at all and I liked the cozy look. Plus, I figured it’d be great for when I get pregnant, lol. I would still say they run true to size.
Review: Worth the hype! Super soft, cozy and warm despite being lightweight. Comes in four colors and I love how this version has a shawl collar and pockets!
Price: $68.90, After Sale: $116.00
Size: XS and fits true to size. Great for both petite and taller gals.
Review: My favorite leggings I think I’ve ever gotten. Buttery soft, holds you in without being super tight or compressive. Fantastic for working out. The real star of the show though is how you can style this with regular sweaters, tunics and sweater dresses and not just wear these in the gym. I’ve probably worn them at least every week since getting them last year.
Price: $59.90, After Sale: $90.00
Size: XXS, fits true to size.
Review: Soft, cozy and a great basic top for fall and winter. Love it styled with leggings or styled with a blazer and trousers for workwear. Comes in a few colors and prints.
Price: $33.90, After Sale: $58.00
Size: 5.5, fits true to size with room for socks if you’d like.
Review: This colorway is perfect for fall and year-round. Super comfortable and you get a little bit of added height with the Air Max sole. Love how this is a sock-fit sneaker and the asymmetrical lace-up is a nice touch.
