Nighttime Pregnancy Skincare Routine

blogger hoang-kim cung shares her pregnancy skincare routine in floral hill house pajamas

When I found out I was going to be a Mom, I knew I’d have to re-examine my beauty products. There are a lot of items that aren’t pregnancy-safe and even though it can be confusing, I wanted to be thorough in identifying exactly what’s “allowed” during this time. I’ve always taken my skincare routine very seriously, and between the potential health risks to our daughter and the hormonal changes to my body, I’ve only taken it more seriously. I thought it’d be helpful for other Expecting Mothers to see my nighttime pregnancy skincare routine, but I’m not a doctor so remember to consult yours about these decisions!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

I will never use makeup wipes. All they do is wipe your makeup around your face, keeping your pores dirty and clogged. This cleansing balm will always be one of my holy grails. It melts off your makeup without drying out your skin. In fact, it’s actually quite hydrating!

Fresh Soy Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser

I’m a big believer in double cleansing. The first round is for removing all the surface grime and the second is for really getting in there to clean the skin! This is a new-to-me product I got specifically for my pregnancy skincare routine. The soy protein in it is great for skin elasticity and the cleanser overall provides a lot of hydration, which is important for my dry skin.

Beautycounter Reflect Effect Overnight Resurfacing Peel

I’ve had to give up my traditional anti-aging products, and this peel helps me address those concerns in a safe way. Overnight, it “peels” the dull surface cells that contribute to uneven skin texture and then helps the new skin underneath look more radiant. I really appreciate how it’s not drying!

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

I use this eye cream both morning and night. It’s incredibly moisturizing without being thick. You also don’t need to use a lot to wake up with plump and hydrated eye areas.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer

As someone with naturally dry skin, this moisturizer has long been one of my other holy grails. You get amazing hydration from a lightweight, fast absorbing formula. Like the eye cream, a little goes a long way. I like to use any leftover moisturizer on my hands!

Hatch Belly Oil

I’m a fairly petite person and my growing bump has been a struggle. This belly oil is fantastic because it soothes any irritation that comes from stretched skin and moisturizes it at the same time. It drys very quickly and doesn’t feel greasy at all.
