I have a soft spot for sweaters. Next to dresses, they are my favorite clothing item. There’s something about how soft, thick and cozy there are that makes me swoon. I love when I get to pull out my sweaters from winter boxes and have them all around me as I hang them up for the season. A silhouette I’m starting to love is the oversized tunic sweater. I first got this style last year in two colors, ivory and red. This year, I am adding this mulberry color and a dusty blue to my wardrobe. This sweater comes in plenty of gorgeous shades so you’re sure to find the perfect one.

However, the fit of this sweater can vary, so I want to get into further detail. I’m wearing size XS for reference. This has an oversized, boxy fit so keep that in mind. You’ll want to size down if possible to get a more slender look. However, I do want to mention the length of this oversized tunic sweater tends to differ. On some, including my red and dusty blue one, the length is longer so I don’t feel the need to wear leggings. I can get away with just wearing over-the-knee boots. But some, such as the mulberry one I’m wearing here, feels dangerously short without bottoms underneath.

One aspect I love about this sweater is the mock neck. It’s sleek, it’s chic and easy to wear. Plus, it’ll keep the cold from getting in. Speaking off, this sweater is mostly made of cotton, so don’t depend on it for warmth. But, if you layer properly with a 100 percent cashmere tank underneath you won’t be as cold. In the winter, I actually wear cashmere tank tops under everything. It’s my secret for staying warm.

The ribbed texture on this oversized tunic sweater along with the dolman sleeves make this a classic piece you can reach for year after year. Many of the reviews say they own multiple colors too. If you’re hesitating about which color to get first I recommend the cream, mulberry or dusty blue. These are colors that’ll never go out of style and you can mix and match them easily with different colored leggings and boots. That way you always have an easy, chic outfit to throw on and get out the door this fall and winter! I really do love how a sweater dress looks with over-the-knee boots. Fellow blogging friend Thalita is rocking an extremely similar look. She’s wearing a neon-colored sweater dress with over-the-knee boots. It’s a classic look you can easily recreate and are sure to feel confident in!
