If you’re looking to try a new trend this fall, I recommend these paper bag leather pants. They are edgy and classic at the same time. Not to mention, the are actually incredibly comfortable and flattering. When it comes to trends, I usually like to dabble here and there, but prefer to keep my closet classic. Leather is huge for Fall 2020 and I love how this outfit came together.
Lately, I’ve really enjoyed sticking with neutral colors, but don’t worry, I still love color. This rich brown color is fall perfection and I’m excited to share how to style leather pants for an outfit you can wear almost anywhere.
Fit & Sizing
If you’re a little lost on how to style leather pants, the first thing to take into consideration is the fit. If the leather pants don’t fit correctly, you risk them overwhelming you. I got size XS and while the waist of these pants run a dash big on me, I love the tie-waist, which allows me to cinch the pants in a bit. This gives the perfect fit for me and gives me room to tuck sweaters in later on in the season.
I’m 5’3 for reference and the hem of these pants hit right at my ankle. On the model, they are a little shorter, but I would say in this instance it’s personal preference. If you prefer a more cropped look, you can get them hemmed. If not, leave them where they hit. I’ll also mention I appreciate the paper bag fit since there is a bit more room in the hip area. This gives the pockets room to “breathe” so to speak so they don’t bunch up too much because it’s too tight.
Let Them Shine
These pants are a statement. A foolproof way on how to style leather pants is to let them shine. Don’t choose a top or sweater that’ll fight with it. That’s why I opted for this puff sleeve lace top. It’s a classic top and doesn’t overwhelm the outfit. I’m wearing size XS and I love how it comes with a built-in nude cami. The puff sleeves are subtle and there are gold buttons on the cuffs. Plus, I love the higher neckline, too!
