I’m a firm believer workwear doesn’t have to be boring. When the holidays roll around, I love being festive with my clothing. Holiday season workwear can be as easy as incorporating pops of red, green, gold or silver into your wardrobe. Or going for new textures such as velvet. If you want to wear a bold color, I recommend a monochromatic look. This way you’re wearing color in a chic and sharp way. Monochromatic looks are some of my favorites because you can really see how textures pop.
In my opinion, owning velvet pieces for holiday season workwear is a must. A velvet blazer is a professional piece you can style countless ways and wear for years. I love the rich red of this one and it adds a nice pop. This is perfect if you’re having a holiday party after work since you won’t need to change to look festive! This blazer has peak lapels with darling button cuffs. I love the classic single-button closure and how it’s fully lined. Size Petite 00 fits me perfectly without any alterations. I’m layering it over a cashmere-blend sweater for warmth.
To keep with the monochromatic look, I’m wearing these dark red trousers, which are so so comfortable. They are stretchy and fit perfectly. When doing colored monochromatic looks, I love playing with different shades of the same color so it doesn’t look too matchy-matchy. Pairing different shades of red together for holiday season workwear is easy to do and very appropriate.
Also, let’s talk about these shoe clips! No, those feathers and crystals are not permanently on my black pumps. They are a fun clip you just attach to any pair of shoes you want to add extra sass. Seriously, how genius is that!?
