How to Create A Welcoming Christmas Entryway

This post is in partnership with Target. All opinions are my own.

For me, the Holidays are all about gathering with the people you love. This is our first year in our new home we built and it’s important our guests feel at home and welcome. I’m so excited to share how to create a welcoming Christmas entryway. This is what our guests see right when they come in so I want them to get that Christmas cheer right away! Things may not be the same this Holiday season, but we can cling to things we hold dear: our loves ones and good memories. For me, when I decorate my home, I want it be a beautiful space I love because everyone deserves a home they love. I’m so excited to partner with Target to show how you can make your home beautiful with affordable items.

Before we jump into the decor, I wanted to give these super-soft thermal pajamas a bit of a shoutout. They are super soft, the perfect thickness and I love all of the festive patterns. I cannot resist a good holiday red, so these were perfect.

Create a Focal Point

Every entryway needs a focal point. To create a welcoming Christmas entryway, I used three of these flocked garlands to drape on my floor mirror. I love the assymetrical look and these 6′ unlit garlands add the perfect wintery look. When choosing a garland, make sure it’s one you can fluff. You always have to fluff faux items to really give them that full look. I like to twist and turn the pine needs on this one to hide as much of the stem as possible. To really give the righthand corner some oomph, I added these flocked picks. Two gave me just the look I wanted.

To accentuate the assymetrical look, I added this black velvet ribbon. It really elevates the garland and makes it look finished. If you are struggling to keep your garland or Christmas decor in place, I recommend command hooks! They don’t damage your walls and if you get the clear ones they are easy to hide.

Add Decorative Objects

I truly believe decorative objects can really complete a space. When it comes to creating a welcoming Christmas entryway, I love being able to make a moment with small decorative objects. I love this flocked pine arrangement because it matches the garland. I added these $5 black metal houses, which light up with AAA batteries! It’s a modern, streamlined look with the traditional Christmas touch so many are used to. I couldn’t help myself with the black Rolls Royce with the Christmas tree on top. It made me smile and that’s why I brought it home. Your home should make you feel happy and when it does, your guests will feel that, too! This spot is a landing area for guests’ keys and things, so it’s nice to have fun little objects brighten the space.
