Growing up in Texas, and living in Nebraska and Virginia for a few years, I’ve learned a few things about how to dress for the summer heat. The first rule is to wear breathable clothing. I cannot stress enough how important it is to check the fabric of the garment you’re buying. Polyester, which is what most clothing is made of nowadays, is not breathable. This means it’ll trap your sweat and make you hotter – a vicious cycle. That’s where linen comes in. It’s not an easy fabric to make but it’s strong, absorbent and extremely breathable. Plus, it dries quickly, so if you sweat, you won’t be wet for long. All of these aspects make it the perfect fabric for summer since it’ll keep you cool in the hot and humid summer weather.
I am so excited to share my favorite linen jumpsuits and rompers with y’all!
Y’all know I have a soft spot for tie-waist pieces and this jumpsuit is no exception. It’s an easy summer piece because you can throw it on and head out the door. I will admit, I was a bit skeptical when it came out of the box because of how wide it looks. However, once on and cinched in thanks to the belt, it fits beautifully.
I’m wearing size Petite 00 but wish I got regular sizing. The length on Petite fit me a little weird, in my opinion. The buttons add a fun summery touch and the linen isn’t too thick. Styling this linen jumpsuit with wedges but you can totally dress down with sandals or even sneakers.
Here are a few other linen items I’m swooning over and quite a few of these are already in my cart. Look for pieces you can mix and match or wear again. You want to think of the cost per wear versus how much an item actually costs.
