I hardly ever wear pants to work, but these navy velvet pants are making me rethink that. It’s no surprise velvet is still living out its moment. I love the lean silhouette of how these velvet pants are cut. There are off-seam pockets, which is a must-have for me. Plus, the way the pants are tailored looks and feels custom. I appreciate the contoured waistband, which helps with fit. I’m wearing a size 00 Petite and it actually runs just a dash big on me. Hence, my belt, which is also big for me, ha! There’s a little bit of smoke and mirrors going on here. Don’t worry, I plan on getting the belt fixed! I’m clearly having some petite girl struggles. While I’d normally consider an alternation job, I’m going to leave these pants alone since they aren’t that big on me.

Of course, one of velvet’s big draws is how lush it is. These velvet pants come in three colors: black, burgundy and navy. All great options, but I gravitated toward navy since I already own a black velvet jumpsuit. These pants are great for the office and then to wear to dinner afterward. You can even dress them up for a fancy occasion on the weekend. I love how this lavender sweater creates a more casual, yet still chic vibe. If you have a slightly more casual work environment, this would be a great choice to keep you warm. For a more conservative work atmosphere, a silk blouse will pair with these velvet pants perfectly. I’ve had this particular blouse for more than six years and with care, it still looks great.

These velvet pants will be a great wardrobe staple going into spring, too. You can pair with a long-sleeve tee and sneakers for a more casual day. Or, dress them up like I am in the two looks in this post.
