If you are hosting this Holiday season, you don’t have to do something major to spruce up your home. Here are 4 ways to spruce up your home for hosting during the Holidays! Whether you’re looking for a new furniture piece, decor or kitchen items, or Christmas decor, The Home Depot has plenty of options! Plus, you can get items shipped to your home, do in-store pickup or a combination of both.
I’m still figuring out hosting in our home so every time we do it, it’s a chance for me to learn. I make mental notes of things I would need and remember to buy them for next time. To help save you some stress of potentially learning “by fire” like I have, I wanted to share four items that I’ve really needed in the past for hosting!
Kitchen & Entertaining Essentials
When you’re hosting, all eyes tend to be on the kitchen since that’s where the food is. It’s important to make sure food and drinks are are easily visible. That way guests can grab them without having to find you to ask where something is. I love to set out a place for drinks and snacks in the kitchen and make it really beautiful.
1. Beverage Dispenser
After hosting a number of times, I’ve learned a beverage dispenser really is necessary. I love how this one holds two gallons so you can make enough for everyone. Plus, it’s glass so you can see the pretty drink inside. I appreciate how it’s made in the USA, too! It’s easy to operate and once you set glasses next to it, your guests will automatically know what to do. It’s a must for hosting during the holidays!
2. Cake Stand
I’ve been on the hunt for a marble cake stand for a while. I love how sturdy and structured this one is. It has clean lines while also having soft edges so I don’t have to worry about it being too easy to chip. Whether you are serving cake or pie or not, a cake stand is incredibly versatile. I’ve used it for savory foods and you can see how I used it to add some height to my beverage dispenser. This was one reason why I wanted a marble one. I had to make sure it could hold the beverage dispenser’s weight.
3. Serving Board
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like you can never have too many serving boards! I love all shapes, sizes and colors. This round marble one caught my eye because it matches my new cake stand. I used it for cookies here, but it’s great for charcuterie, fruit, anything! If you’re hosting during the holidays and want your guests to have a go-to place to grab appetizers or snacks, this is it!
4. Beautiful Pitcher
I love having pitchers in our kitchen because they are so versatile. Similar to cake stands, you can do so much with a pitcher. Serve drinks with it or fill it with flowers. This fluted one is so beautiful and perfect for year round! Even though I say no gifts, my friends are the sweetest and will usually bring me flowers. Having a beautiful pitcher available means I can easily grab it, add some water and put my new flowers in it for the night.
I hope this post helps you get ready for hosting during the holidays! Remember, don’t let hosting overwhelm you. My best advice is to focus on one thing and do it well. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, delegate or outsource the rest. You don’t have to make it, to make it happen!
