Tuscan Valley Colors :: Tax-Free Finds

Hello, Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
It was tax-free weekend and even though I had checked many items off my To-Buy-List in New York, I couldn’t help venturing out to see what I could find in the Dallas area. The two items I picked up remind of an afternoon in the Tuscan Valley when placed next to each other.

H&M USA Olive Panel Sheath and White Ann Taylor Bow Blouse

My first stop was Ann Taylor and after sifting the sale rack for quite a while, I laid eyes on this crisp white bow tie halter blouse. I let out a silent “Yes!” in my head when the size tag said it was a 00.

I could easily see myself wearing this blouse with my ankle pants of tucked into a skirt for work. The blouse is also short enough to wear untucked, so it’ll be great for casual outings with colored or patterned shorts.

My experience at H&M was quite the opposite of Ann Taylor. The store was absolutely packed and the fitting room lines were insane. I spotted this panel dress and knew I had to buy it. I had previously found the quarter sleeve seafoam one from H&M, but a terrible tailoring job makes it unwearable until I take it to my regular tailor to get it fixed. This dress isn’t very figure flattering, but my Tory Burch belt made it all better.

The texture of the dress is quite lovely in my opinion and the fabric has great stretch. The “dotted” feel of the dress adds sophistication, I feel, and drapes over the body well when cinched in with a belt. I originally had plans of sewing the sides in myself, but once I tried the dress on with a belt, my laziness kicked in and decided I wouldn’t be touching the sewing machine.

I hope you enjoyed my tax-free finds! Let me know what bargains you managed to find in the comments below!
