How Skinceuticals Transformed My Skin

Let me take you back to early 2018. Shortly after a trip to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and Seoul, South Korea I started breaking out. I’m going to be honest: I am very lucky. I barely broke out in my teens and have always been blessed with good skin. That’s backed up by wholesome eating habits and drinking lots of water. When the first set of pimples and zits arrived in early March I wasn’t worried. But then more joined and the older ones didn’t seem to go away. Worse, it was in areas I couldn’t hide with my hair. My chin, my forehead, my cheeks. I normally have good skin and I didn’t understand why this was happening. I religiously take my makeup off every single night, I drink lots of water, eat wholesome foods and workout regularly.

Blemish + Age Defense

I cannot say enough good things about this product. As explained above in my skincare story, this is the serum transforming my skin. It cleared my adult acne in two weeks and keeps signs of aging at bay. When I initially started using this, I would apply it every night after removing makeup and washing my face. Now, since my skin is clear, I only use it every other night or every two nights. I apply one drop to my left cheek and rub that in on the left side of my face and then do the same for the right. Then, I’ll split a drop between my t-zone area. I also like to press it into the skin once I’ve applied. You can use a beauty roller to help with this, too. When I think of the Skinceuticals products I swear by, this is at the top of the list.

C E Ferulic

This is a more recent addition to my skincare regiment but is truly one of the Skinceuticals products I swear by. I added this in late September, after using up the Phloretin CF Gel, and wow has this made a difference! There is a reason this has nearly 2,000 reviews and five stars on Dermstore! The combination of ferulic acid and pure vitamin C and E help protect your skin from environmental damage such as sun exposure. Plus, this formula with added antioxidants helps with signs of aging, photodamage and can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles while firming and brightening your skin. I cannot say enough about the final part of that previous sentence. I noticed a visible difference, and so did many of you when I was bare-faced on a trip to Charleston)! Definitely use two drops during the day but you can also use it at night so it truly soaks into your skin, too.

LHA Cleanser Gel

I’ve previously used the Purity cleanser for more than a decade without any complaints. I truly had no reason to switch to this cleanser other than the vanity of wanting to try it just because. WOW! My skin feels so clean after using this because the combo of LHA, glycolic and salicylic acid help with cell renewal. This means you get better skin tone, texture and your skin can glow. Used in combination with the two products above, this rounds out number three of the Skinceuticals products I swear by.

Conditioning Toner

I don’t use toner as much as I should, maybe only three times a week. But when I do, I reach for this one and apply it with this cotton. This leaves my skin feeling super clean because of the acid combo. Plus, it also reduces pore size, loosens dead skin cells and helps with texture. Aka, making your skin ready to aborb the serum you’re about to apply.

Phyto Corrective Gel

This is not a regular product for me. On the off chance a pimple or zit leaves a scar, I use this oil-free gel to reduce the appearance of the spot and hyperpigmentation. It’s also great if your skin is irritated, red and needs something to help soothe it. There are anti-inflammatory and antiseptic botanicals that’ll calm your skin down.

Physical Fusion UV Defense SPT 50

Johnny actually uses this on days he knows he’s going to really be in the sun. He probably should use it regularly, but men are so tough with skincare products or just self care in general. This has a sheer tint to it that’s complimentary to all skin tones. Plus, it glides on without leaving any white residue or that oily sunscreen feel.
