Spring can be a tricky season to dress for. We got snow last week, in March, which is crazy! However, I believe a good trench coat will help you get through some odd weather forecasts. I got this investment trench coat six years ago when I interned at CBS News in New York City. My family helped me pay for it knowing it would be a workhorse item in my closet. I can say without a doubt, it certainly has. This trench coat has seen everything from tornadoes to beautiful 60-degree days. Yet, it still looks stunning and continues to serve me well. I got mine hemmed slightly so it’s a flattering length on my 5’3 frame. Plus, it still covers all my dresses and skirts completely as it should if the coat is buttoned up all the way. I cannot recommend a good trench coat enough. If you don’t have one, snatch one up stat.
I’m a big fan of a true sunny yellow shade but this marigold ruffle dress is making me think twice. This is such a flattering color on a variety of skin tones. If you are looking to branch into yellow but are unsure of where to start, I recommend this. The ruffle detailing gives this dress a fun, feminine touch. Also, this fabric feels like a dream on. It’s a slinky weave that feels cool on the skin and doesn’t tug. I’m wearing size P in this ruffle dress and it fits quite well. There is a little bit of extra room in the bust, but it doesn’t bother me too much. The cap sleeves do have a slit in them. However, this is definitely still a very work-appropriate dress. Swap out these block heels for something a little sexier to make this a fun girls night out or date night dress. This marigold number is quite versatile.
