Must-Haves to Buy Before the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Ends

One of the biggest sales of the year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, is ending Sunday, August 4. The sale includes items that are new for fall and the prices will go up to their retail price August 5. That said, make sure you snap up these goodies at their low price now! Nordstrom has a great return policy, so it’s better to buy the items now and you can always return them later. There are still some goodies in stock! However, a lot of the items have single digits next to them as far as stock, three or less in stock, so act now! I also have been working hard to find extremely similar items to what has sold out and will share more in a blog post Monday.

Three things to remember as you shop this weekend:

  1. Check out frequently to ensure you get the items you want. Similar to the rush of early access, tons of people will be shopping online and in stores this weekend! It’s easiest to shop online since you can view all of the inventory available.
  2. Ship your order to help make sure you can get everything you order. Sometimes when you opt for in-store pickup, items are already in someone’s dressing room or currently being pulled for another online order. Unfortunately, this increases the chances of items in your order being canceled.
  3. Order a few sizes if you’re unsure of what to get when it comes to clothing. I include a lot of sizing and fit information in all of my blog posts but sometimes it may not be enough. You can always return what doesn’t fit.

Size: Wearing size XS, but the sizing is different on this. The cream version I have runs a little bigger whereas this red is slightly smaller.
Review: One of my favorite sweaters from the sale!! This just popped back in stock n a few sizes, so act now! This sweater is super soft, slouchy and so versatile. Size up to wear as a sweater dress or get your size to tuck into jeans and skirts. This will be one of the “it” sweaters for fall! Comes in a few colors and I could not recommend this more!
Price: $98.90 After Sale:$148.00

Size: Reviews say this runs small, so size up half a size.
Review: I’m wearing last year’s version in the photo above but this year’s version is fully stocked in all colors, which is amazing!!! I did get the shoes to try and they are very comfortable. I love light-colored boots for fall since they can really help transition your look. Plus, sometimes black boots don’t go with everything. I love the knee-high profile on these and how they do not slouchy down.
Price: $159.90 After Sale:$239.95

Size: Wearing size Petite XXS
Review: One of my favorite Gibson tops because it’s soft, cozy and can be styled up or down. The material is stretchy and so comfortable, too. Petite sizing makes a huge difference on this top. The twist hits pretty much right at my hip, so it’s perfect for wearing with high-waisted jeans or athletic bottoms. It’s the perfect top for throwing on for a chic look because the twist adds a unique detail. Comes in a few fresh colors for fall! Take note to wash inside out or hand wash if possible and lay flat to dry.
Price: $31.90 After Sale:$49.00

Size: Wearing XS, Fits true to size. 7/8 length is petite friendly.
Review: If you are planning on buying leggings this NSale, these should be it! They are worth every penny and with the sale they are such a steal! The quality and versatility on these are better than the Zella and Spanx faux leather leggings, which I found to be cheap quality. You will love these for working out as they really sculpt your legs and muscles. Plus you can also wear with sweaters and boots casually since you cannot visibly see the Nike swoosh on these, whereas the Spanx leggings you cannot wear to workout and the Zella leggings are very obviously active wear.
Price: $67.90 After Sale:$90.00

Sizing: Runs small. Size up half a size for a snug fit. I don’t wear socks with mine but if you do, I recommend these.
Review: I stumbled upon these sneakers last year and they quickly became a go-to. They are very comfortable and the perfect hybrid of a workout sneaker and lifestyle shoe. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 has two versions of this sneaker. There is the premium version, which you see above. Nike’s premium styles usually include more “glam” fabrics such as leather, suede, etc. and have a slightly more lifestyle look. The regular version is more of a sporty look. I have the all black version from last year’s sale. But this year’s version has a nice feminine touch with the floral on the heel.
Price: $74.90, After Sale: $100.00

Size: Wearing size US 2, which fits like a 0. Good length to wear a sweater dress without sizing up.
Review: A good basic item you will reach for over and over. Love this with over the knee boots like I’m wearing here for a more dressed up look. Wear with jeans and booties for a casual feel. You can also pair with biker shorts, too! True sweatshirt material with texture and ribbed sleeves and hem. This does fit very oversized, so keep that in mind. Also in navy.
Price: $39.90, After Sale: $68

Size: Reviews say this fits true to size.
Review: For less than $90, you really cannot go wrong with these over-the-knee boots. Made of faux suede, which will not be as warm as the Stuart Weitzman pair I love so much (more below), these provide the classic look but at a lower price point. Still available in almost all sizes! Take note, the faux suede is only on the front as the back is a stretchy fabric, which makes these hug the leg better.
Price: $86.90, After Sale: $129.95

Size: Wearing size XS, which fits like a 2 according to the site. Slightly oversized fit with side slits but still petite friendly.
Review: I cannot believe this sweater isn’t sold out yet! A true gem of the sale and one of the better quality sweaters. You can wear out with jeans or leggings or do a half tuck. The sleeves can be a little long but even with them rolled up, it’s still a cute look. Fabric is an acrylic and polyester blend so it’s warm but not as breathable as cashmere or wool. However, it’s a good deal for the price. Be sure you either hand wash or use the delicate cycle and lay flat to dry to maintain the shape and quality.
Price: $44.90, After Sale: $68

Size: Wearing size 24 and the fit is perfect.
Review: I buy a pair of jeans from this brand every year during the sale because of the discount. You will not regret this purchase. They are beyond soft, stretchy, comfortable and will last. I tend to wear them quite often throughout the year and my pair from 2016 still looks awesome.
Price: $149.90, After Sale:$225.00

Size: Got 35.5 (equivalent to 5.5) runs true to size but the calf area can be tight. Suede should stretch over time but these can be hard to get on and off at first. Also, if you want to wear thicker socks come winter, size up half a size.
Review: For ladies 5’4 and shorter, you’re in for a steal! These will go up your legs a little higher but still are not quite “thigh-high” if you know what I mean. I prefer this since these boots are so warm. They really keep my legs comfortable during frigid cold days while also being stylish. Nearly $300 off their original retail price, these Stuart Weitzman Darla over-the-knee boots are an incredible deal from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I love the lower heel because it’ll be even more comfortable than the 4″ heel, which I can already wear for 4-6 hours without issues. These boots are an investment item but in the fall and winter, I wear them almost every day. I own two colors in the highland style and one pair in the lowland. I cannot say enough good things about these! Definitely one of my top petite picks!
Price: $499.90, After Sale:$795.00

Size: Wearing size US 2, which fits like a 0
Review: I can’t believe this is still in stock! The fit of this jacket is incredible. I love the cropped length for pairing with skirts or dresses. The pockets are a decent size and the belt adds interest. The jacket also fully zips up, which is a plus for this style. Also comes in black.
Price: $62.90 After Sale:$95.00

Size: Wearing size 0
Review: The fit and color of this dress is perfection. Plus, for the price, it’s an extremely versatile dress. I love the fit of this since you can wear it to work and for cocktail parties or even as a fall or winter wedding guest dress. The longer length hits just right and I’m 5’3 for reference. I would say it’s petite friendly, too. Also comes in dark purple.
Price: $78.90, After Sale: $118.00

Review: I got my first one in 2014 and as hard as it is for me to admit, it is very difficult for me to do my makeup without this mirror now. I know $150 is a lot of money for a makeup mirror that lights up, but I promise you it is worth every penny. Not only does it evenly light your face but it provides different light settings such as indoor, evening, cloudy, so you can get your makeup perfect every time. The 5x magnification on the bigger mirror truly helps you apply makeup flawlessly because you can see everything. A little scary at first but then you’ll find it’s hard to live without it. This also comes with a smaller 10x magnification mirror. Plus, you can control the mirror via an app on your phone (I use it to keep the light on for 30 mins).
Price: $150, After Sale: $250.00

Review: I cannot do my face makeup without using a wet beautyblender! I truly believe this is one of the reasons my foundation looks like skin and applies flawlessly. After I apply foundation with a brush, I’ll go in with a beautyblender sponge to smooth everything out. Love how this set has two sponges and comes with a case for travel. I wash mine every three uses and use a new one every three to four months to make sure it’s clean.
Price: $35, Value: 54.00

Size: Wearing size XXS
Review: This easily makes the list for my petite picks! Great quality for the price and the fabric feels so soft and smooth on the skin. Warning, this is a bodycon fit, so size up to wear to work or you might get a few looks. The ruching makes this dress ultra-flattering and there are so many ways you can wear this. Love it on its own for fancier occasions or date night. Throw on a blazer for workwear and style with a fun cardigan for a casual outfit. Also comes in black and can definitely be bump-friendly if you are expecting.
Price: $31.90 After Sale:$49.00

Size: Wearing size 00 but this does come in Petite online! I recommend getting petite if you’re 5’4 and shorter since the sleeve will be shorter, too.
Review: A classic blazer you can wear for years to come. I love the statement this yellow one makes and it’s perfect for adding a pop to your workwear look. Also comes in cobalt blue, black and navy as well.
Price: $130.90, After Sale: $198.00

Size: Fits true to size, wearing Petite XXS. One of my favorite things about Gibson is their size inclusivity. They always have petite and plus sizing.
Review: Soft, drapey fabric that moves with you. The color is so vibrant in person. I will say it can be hard to get off because of the neck but otherwise, a fantastic top you can wear to work and on the weekends. Comes in a few different colors.
Price: $51.90, After Sale:$78.00

BUTTON HIGH-WAISTED JEANS (sold out, similar here)

Size: Wearing size 23 and had to size down from a 24, which was too big in the hip and waist area.
Review: You can’t go wrong with the quality of these. They are comfortable to wear, the color will last if you wash inside out and I haven’t had any issues with ripping, etc.
Price: $89.90, After Sale:$135.00
