I haven’t made a mood board since my parents’ house was being built! I’ve actually missed them, so I wanted to bring them back starting with modern living room ideas. Our living room is one of my favorite spaces in the house, and I know you all love it too. Hopefully this mood board brings you even more modern transitional style inspiration!
Let’s start with the biggest piece, the sofa. As you can probably guess, I love the clean frame and neutral fabric, as well as how elevated the bench style cushion is. Next up is the TV console, which has a lot of the same tones as the sofa because of the wood grain. Incorporating wood into a room like this with lots of cool tones and metals is important because it adds warmth, which is especially important in a living room. Now, you know I had to include some Arhaus! This rug, which is like an antique carpet but much more luxurious, also has similar tones but a few shades darker. This coffee table is absolutely stunning. Marble is one of my favorite materials, especially when paired with brass, and reeded wood creates beautiful texture. It’s an absolute statement piece! The martini table is somewhat similar, with marble and metal in a circular silhouette. Moving on, these chairs have a mid-century influence to them that’s very chic and continues the theme of clean lines.
On to the decor section of modern living room ideas! The throw pillows create a graphic punch and some contrast. This urn adds a more rustic touch to the space and is surprisingly versatile, able to be styled with anything (like pampas grass) or left alone. Last but not least, I’m not a fan of many floor lamps but this one is fantastic. It plays into the mixed materials of the coffee table and martini table, which ties the whole room together.
