Sunscreen is always a big part of my skincare routine, especially in the summer. As a reporter in the field, the sun beats down on me almost every day. It’s so important to wear SPF every single day. Not just when you go to the beach. Today, I’m partnering with Supergoop! to share some of my favorite SPF products, especially for daily use. That’s why I love Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen, which is also a makeup primer. The magic behind Unseen is how it’s truly invisible. You can’t smell anything and you can’t see it on your skin. There’s no white cast which is so typical of sunscreen. Unseen keeps my makeup looking incredible, a far-cry from the usual slip and slide or oil break up that’s so common. When applying, it truly feels like velvet or silk, so soft on my skin. Completely unlike greasy, sticky sunscreens.
After washing my face in the morning, applying serum and moisturizer, I immediately apply Unseen. If I’m not going to leave my apartment for a few hours then I wait to apply so it’s more effective. This SPF is packed with powerful ingredients including red algae to protect against blue light, which comes from our electronics. You can apply your makeup right after or wait a few minutes. I truly can’t say enough good things about this sunscreen. Another reason I love it so much is it doesn’t flash back. As a TV reporter, it’s pretty awful when you’re on TV and your face is completely white because of a bad beauty product. I’ve never experienced that with Unseen, which is awesome. Also, don’t forget to apply it on your neck, too!
Another layer of protection you can use from Supergoop! is their Invincible Setting Powder. Once you finish your foundation and concealer, whip this out and set your makeup. I’m using the translucent powder here, but it also comes in light, medium and deep. This 100 percent mineral powder is sweat resistant and keeps your makeup looking flawless. Plus, no one wants to be shiny in the wrong spots. You can keep this in your cosmetic bag and reapply throughout the day for SPF 45 protection. Using both you are sure to be protected will not only potentially keep skin cancer at bay, but keep sunspots from appearing, wrinkles from forming prematurely and acne scars from darkening.
