House Decor Essentials for Any Space

Blogger Hoang-Kim Cung curates her top 10 house decor essentials

If you look around my home, it’s obvious I have a very established sense of style. That said, like with anything, I do expect it to still change through the years! This doesn’t stop me from investing in house decor though. The trick is to curate pieces that still feel fairly versatile, like these 10 of my favorite essentials.

Serena & Lily Vase

Anyone who’s been following me for a while knows just how much I love this vase. To me, it really is the perfect combination of classic and modern. I’m always moving it around the house wherever I need an arrangement and it looks fantastic in every room!

A Floral Eucalyptus Stems

A touch of greenery can really liven up a space, especially if you’re like me and love neutral house decor. I like to put these stems in my Serena & Lily vase because they add some height. Despite being artificial, they also look very real! It’s great to have something zero-maintenance that’s also quite striking.

Live Beautiful Coffee Table Book

I really love decorating with coffee table books. They’re beautiful and personal, and also very engaging for guests. This one in particular has a neutral exterior that easily pairs with any color palette, and when you open it,  the photography and decorating tips are equally inspiring.

CB2 Marble Box

We have this box on our coffee table to hold our remotes and other small items we like to keep close to the sofa. Marble is so timeless and really just elevates any space, and this piece in particular is very easy to style with house decor such as coffee table books and flowers.

Arhaus Martini Table

I never thought we needed a martini table until we had one! It’s perfect for eating lunch, using my laptop, and more in the living room – especially for my dad, who spends a lot of time with us on the sofa. The silhouette of this piece matches every style and I love how the metal adds a new texture and material to rooms.

Tizo Acrylic Book Stand

I’m a big fan of acrylic in house decor because it’s elevated but takes up minimal visual space. I already mentioned my love of coffee table books, and this book stand is a wonderful way to truly put them on display and encourage guests to flip through them.

Arhaus Herringbone Throw Blanket

We love every single Arhaus piece in our home and know they’ll last us a lifetime, including this under $100 throw. The merino wool and cashmere combination is amazingly soft, and the herringbone pattern makes it stand out just enough while still being quite versatile.

Sunday Club Moss Candle

A luxurious candle can really set the mood in a space. This one is a favorite because of just how dynamic it is. It’s musky and bold, yet warm and comforting. The actual vessel isn’t distracting as house decor so you can really focus on the scent, and of course it’s great to be able to support such a small business!

CB2 Acrylic Frame

Like I said, I love the elevated, un-disruptive nature of acrylic in house decor. In frame form, it also really allows the photo or art inside to stand out. I love how this one is double-sided so you can easily change things up based on your mood or aesthetic.

McGee & Co Indu Pillow

This pillow is truly one-of-a-kind, designed with African mud cloth sourced directly from Mali Africa. Not only does it have a wonderful cultural backstory, but the neutral pattern makes it easy for the pillow to be moved around different rooms as desired.
