As a working woman, I try my best to look professional while still catering to my love of fashion and standing out. For this post, I’m partnering with White House Black Market to share some of my favorite pieces from their new fall collection. What I love about this collection is it’s full of pieces you can wear to work and wear to a cocktail party or out with friends. If you work in a more conservative office it can be scary to incorporate color into your wardrobe. I recommend a neutral approach to the bulk of your outfit while throwing in colorful accessories. This fall, WHBM has beautiful burgundy, port and wine shades. These will fit into your wardrobe beautifully and can be paired with other pieces for years to come.

For my neutral base in this outfit, I’m going with a contrast jumpsuit, which will help you stand out. I’m wearing size 0, but could have taken a 00. This jumpsuit does not come in petite sizing. I estimate the legs would need about three to four inches hemmed to fit me perfectly. I’m 5’3 for reference. However, getting something hemmed is easy and quite inexpensive. One aspect I love about this contrast jumpsuit is how it looks like two pieces. The draping of the blouse portion is so well done. Also, the v-neck isn’t too low and works well for the office. Throw on a pair of black heels and you have a great work-appropriate outfit.

To take things up a notch this fall, I’m incorporating a rich shade of burgundy. WHBM calls this color port and a variety of pieces come in it. This fashion coat has a classic cut but is anything from basic. It features a sleek design with a sharp trim and gunmental-tone buttons. The length of this coat is approximately 41 inches from the shoulder and hits me right below the knee. This fashion coat definitely has a luxurious feel and the color really makes this pop. It’s also fully lined with pockets. You’re sure to stand out in this. To continue with my pop of color, I chose a suede belt in the same shade as my jacket to add a little interest to my waist.

I, along with White House Black Market, believes a bag can make or break an outfit. For work, I love a roomy bag to throw all of my essentials and “just in case” items in. To celebrate the launch of their new fall collection, they’re giving away a beautifully structured tote bag with each $175 purchase. I love the shape and feel of this bag. the bottom is nice and flat so it’ll sit well. The leather is soft yet durable, while the texture hides scratches and stains. I prefer bags with texture because I don’t have to baby them as much. This is a great tote to use for work or weeknds – throw anything inside and it’ll hold.

I hope you enjoyed this post about how to create a fall look for work without compromising color and unique touches. You can definitely have it both ways and wear this outfit to work and then straight to an event or cocktail party afterward.
