White Ruffle Top c/o, Blue Gingham Shorts (on sale for $20!), Prada Tote, Chanel Espadrilles (similar) Black Sunglasses (similar), Pearl Earrings c/o, Rose Gold Bracelets c/o
Gingham is one of my favorite patterns during warmer months. There’s something about the pattern screaming quintessential American. These blue gingham shorts caught my eye the moment I saw them. While they are cut into a more casual shape and resemble fancy track shorts, they can easily be dressed up or down. They are pull-on style, so easy to get on and off. Plus, these blue gingham shorts are incredibly comfortable. The cotton fabric is easy to maintain and doesn’t wrinkle easily. Of course, I’m a sucker for the pockets. Another aspect I like about these shorts is the 3 1/2 inch inseam. I am not and probably will never be a fan of the “underbutt” sticking out of shorts.
To dress these shorts up, I am swapping out a traditional tee, for something a little fancier. This ruffle top is perfect for that and is so inexpensive at only $13. I added fun accessories, including these pearl drop earrings to keep things on the dressy side. A pair of heels can easily take these shorts the full nine years. However, I decided to go with classic Chanel espadrilles instead. These are extremely similar and are at a less expensive price point. What I love about this style of espadrille is you can slip them on and your outfit instantly looks chic. Plus, since they are flats, they are incredibly comfortable and can go with anything from shorts and jeans to dresses.
