Happy Friday, Everyone! I hope you’ve had a productive week!
I have been seeking a clean, white, button-down blouse for some time. I didn’t want anything made of cotton because I don’t have time for wrinkles. I wanted a nice jersey or luxurious silk. I searched H&M and Forever21 for cheaper alternatives, but came out empty-handed. But a recent trip to J.Crew made my day. I found the perfect light, silk blouse in 00.
When looking for a nice button-down, there are a few things I keep in mind: details. This shirt has lots of little quirks that elevate the top and make it unique, not just any ol’ white shirt. Originally, I didn’t like the look of pockets, but the extra paneling in the middle of the pocket made it dainty. In addition, the “tab” halfway down the shirt adds extra “oomph.”
Onto my review:
I bought this shirt at retail price, not on sale, so I had to make sure I was in love. The 00 has a nice slim fit, but isn’t tight or constricting. The shirt is a little on the sheer side, but this is an easy fix with a nude undershirt. The silk feels very easy and light against my skin. The weight of the fabric makes it very easy to tuck in and let “flow” over the top of pants or skirts. The sleeve length wasn’t long on my petite frame, which was nice, but I prefer the rolled-up look. The tag on this top says to dry-clean only, but delicately hand-washing should provide adequate care.
To make this top office-appropriate, I paired it with a soft pencil skirt. The salmon-colored pencil skirt I chose isn’t stiff and has nice movement. This goes well with the light and airy nature of the clean white top. To cinch my waist and add a pop of color, I tied it all together with a hot pink bow belt I got on clearance months ago.
Thank you so much for reading my post! I hope you enjoy your day!
