Hello Everyone!
Velvet is one of the hottest fabrics right now I feel it adds instant sophistication, elegance and grace to an outfit almost. It’s perfect for holiday parties and dinners we all have coming up! I wore a lot of velvet in my figure skating days – plenty of my dresses were made of 4-way stretch velvet. Last year, I purchased the first piece of velvet clothing since my skating days and it was a huge hit! I loved wearing these velvet shorts over and over again last winter. They were especially easy to style up and down.
This crinkled velvet dress from Anthropologie is a true stunner. It looks incredibly lush and also comes in a beautiful beige with hint of pink. Like most dresses from Anthropologie, you can trust it’ll probably have pockets. These are front flap and pretty spacious. Your iPhone 7 Plus will most likely fit with room to spare. I’m wearing a size 0 Regular here, but this dress does come in petite sizing as well. If you get your true size, it’ll be more figure flattering and with heels, this would be a great holiday party dress too.
It is becoming more and more common to pair over the knee dresses with boots and I’m a huge fan. This can be hard for petites to pull off, so it’s important to make sure your dress is at the right length. I recommend showing at least an inch and a half or two of skin, otherwise it could look weird. However, if your dress completely goes over the boots, that’s a different look and is equally stylish. Since this dress was regular sizing and ran a little long, I used a belt to shorten the length. This is one of my favorite tricks to create shape, add a waist and shorten a dress all in one.
