This time of year can be tricky to dress for. Many of us are eagerly awaiting spring and warmer temperatures but there are still a few weeks left of winter! I’m excited to share the best plaid coat you need to help you transition from winter to spring. I love finding pieces that are versatile and you can wear for years to come. Cost per wear is extremely important to me. Think about it. The more times you wear or use an item, the better your investment. This plaid coat can be an item you wear all winter and in early spring. Since it’s a high-quality garment, you’ll have it for years versus just a few seasons. It makes sense to spend more on clothes you’ll wear for years rather than constantly replacing something that’s cheaper.

STYLE FOR WINTER TO KEEP WARM
This coat is made of wool so it’s sure to keep you warm. Layer with sweaters, jeans and booties for a more casual look. This coat is double-breasted and the fit is excellent. This brand specifically caters to petite women, so the length is perfect for me. I wear size XXS and it’s not too tight for thick sweaters. The faux fur details are fun and add a feminine touch. This plaid coat would be gorgeous with a sweater dress, tights and over-the-knee boots, too. One reason I love this plaid coat is the mix of colors. It doesn’t feel harsh like some plaid patterns, which don’t transition well into spring. This coat has a mix of soft pinkish beige and black so it’s lighter and easier to wear with spring outfits.
STYLE FOR SPRING
For those chilly spring days, throw this plaid coat over a spring workwear dress and you are good to go. I wore a white dress on a date with Johnny and this plaid coat was perfect for keeping me warm. Wool coats are great for layering over thinner dresses because they really keep your body heat close to you. Even though I’m not wearing tights, I felt comfortable temperature-wise with this coat. The length of this code is longer, about midcalf, which I appreciate. Whenever I wear dresses, especially for weddings or nice occasions, I don’t like for the hem to pop out underneath.
You can put your arms in or drape it over your shoulders like I’m wearing here. Of course, if it’s colder outside, I highly recommend actually wearing it and buttoning up for ultimate warmth.
