A good night’s rest is so important and many things play a role. For us, our bedroom is our sanctuary and we strive to do everything we can to set ourselves up for success when it comes to sleeping. We started with a good foundation in our mattress, then we wanted to invest in our sheets. We spend so much of our lives sleeping and it’s crucial to make sure we’re ready to tackle whatever the day may bring. Investing in good bedding and a good mattress, I believe, is the key to living a better life. So, is Boll and Branch worth it? Let’s dive into what we got, changes we’ve made and what we recommend! (Plus, I even did a little nightstand reorganizing!)

Signature Sheet Set
We got our first Boll and Branch sheets in the Fall of 2019. I had done plenty of research and really loved many things about this brand. However, what I really focused on is how their fabrics are responsibly sourced and fair-trade. They stand by their products, supply chain and humane treatment of their factory workers. I absolutely love that about them and why I continue to not only partner them, but buy products with my own money.
The signature sheet set is made of organic cotton. It’s super soft, doesn’t run hot at night and somehow does get softer when you wash it. We haven’t had any issues with pilling, the quality of the fabric or stitching. We actually only have one set of sheets fitting our King-size bed, so we take them off, wash and dry, then put them right back on.
More than a year later we couldn’t be happier with them!
Down-Alternative Insert
To go with our new sheets, we invested in a down-alternative duvet insert. This one is so fluffy, the perfect weight and keeps us warm without being too hot. It’s perfect and since we use a duvet cover, we wash it once a month. Cold cycle, tumble dry low and it still looks fantastic more than a year later!
Percale Duvet Set
A new addition to our bedding, we just got the Percale duvet set and Johnny loves it! It’s super cool – even more than organic cotton. If you run really hot at night, I recommend percale sheets and duvet sets, for sure. I will say: it does “make noise” a bit in that you hear rustling since it’s such a crisp fabric. There will also be more wrinkles than with cotton. However, to that I did want to add: I am and probably always will be reluctant toward fabrics that are “wrinkle-free” completely. Similar to how we discovered Teflon is bad to us… I sometimes wonder if there’s a day where we’ll feel that way about synthetic fabrics such as polyester.
