When it comes to closet staples, I look for pieces that are versatile and comfortable. I want something that’s office appropriate and looks great on the weekends. If it looks great dressed up for a night out, that’s even better. I’m excited to partner with M.M.LaFleur on this blog post to share one of their core pieces, the Merritt Jardigan, which is a stretchy blazer I’ve had for years. Plus, you can use code HKCUNG20 to get 20% off your first full-priced purchase.
I’ve been a fan of M.M.LaFleur for years because their pieces are high quality and last years. I appreciate how it’s elevated workwear that is machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant and easy to care for. When I don’t know what to wear, I love reaching for their pieces because they go with everything. It makes it easy when their power casual pieces can be easily mixed and matched. Power casual simply means outfits that mean business, but are comfortable like your favorite casual clothing.
WORKWEAR
I own the Merritt Jardian in two colors. The latte colorway is a beautiful beige that’s appropriate year-round. It has a flared silhouette that’s feminine and soft. The knit material on this is ultra stretchy and drapes like a dream. It is so flattering on and I love how you can wear it open or closed. It comes with a removable sash you can also tie in the front or back.
For the business professional workwear look, I’m styling this stretchy blazer with skinny pants and a ribbed 3/4 length sleeve ribbed top. I love the look of skinny pants with the flare of the blazer because it has balance. You can definitely style with flats, but I’m partial to a pair of heels. I sized up to size 8 since I’m in my third trimester. They are stretchy and feel like your favorite pair of leggings while being office appropriate.
CASUAL
For a casual look, I love going with jogger-style pants and an elevated t-shirt. The stretchy pulls this look together and adds dimension. I own both pieces featured here in other colors and reach for them often. The t-shirt is made of Pima cotton and so soft to the touch. However, I love how it can be elevated and looks a bit chicer and put together. I love to wear this t-shirt on its own, but it looks great under jackets and blazers.
The jogger-style pants give that casual vibe and I appreciate how the pockets have zippers. There is an elastic waistband in the back for comfort, but since it’s not in the front, the pants have more of an elevated feel. This would be a great weekend outfit while still making sure you look put together and not wearing head-to-toe athleisure while being ultra comfortable.
