Hello Everyone! Velvet is the hot fabric right now. This dark blush velvet makes the perfect Valentine’s Day dress. I love the idea of a wrap dress for dinner dates because they allow for you to eat as much as you want since they’re so forgiving. This velvet Valentine’s Day dress is so soft and flattering. The wrap silhouette really accentuates the minimal curves I have but doesn’t add extra “weight” like velvet can. A heads up, this dress is not actually a true “wrap” dress. The velvet sash is a completely separate piece you can tie around your waist once you’re in the dress. To get your bow nice and fluffy, I highly recommend doing the bunny-ear method instead of the loop-around. This allows your actual bow loops to be on top rather than having one above and one below.

Since it can be a little chilly in February, I like the idea of a long-sleeve Valentine’s Day dress. I am not a fan of being cold (I don’t think I ever will be) so dresses that can add warmth are ideal. Plus, velvet is one of the warmest fabrics because it really wraps the body and traps in body heat, making you warm. I wore this dress on a night where it was about 50 degrees and felt fine without a jacket. Of course, if you layer a nice wool coat on top of velvet, you’ll be nice and toasty! Also, I believe no dress is worth getting sick over 😉

This velvet dress also comes in an elegant dark blue that would be perfect for evening affairs. My lace-up heels are old, but I found some similar pairs. These are lace-up and in a beautiful blush/beige color with a chunky heel. But if you’re looking for a silhouette with cutouts very similar to mine, these are extremely close but only available in burgundy or black.
