Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.
Central Texas gets stifling during this time of year and walking to class the past two weeks has been a drag. However, a “cold” front is going through Austin so I took advantage of the record low 52-degree morning to wear my new tweed jacket and explore one of the newest buildings on campus, The Belo Center for New Media. Sadly, while I am studying broadcast journalism, I don’t have any classes in the new building. There is so much light and beauty in the new building. It’s very motivating and the modern blue of the glass adds a nice cooling effect to our campus. I can’t believe the temperatures were about the same inside and outside the building! This reminded me of a running joke in Texas about the heat: “We call it chilly when the weather drops below 90.”
I have seen so many fashion bloggers discover wonderful things at Forever21 lately, I couldn’t help but get jealous. I’m not a big fan of Forever21 at all. I much prefer H&M due to their quality and better customer service. But I got sucked in and wound up pleasantly surprised when I spotted this Valentino look-alike bow dress. The red color was rich, vibrant and the bows were nicely folded. The quality of the fabric isn’t the best, but with careful washing, it would most likely hold up. The fit of the dress was very slim, great for a petite girl such as me, but not too “downtown.”
The Belo Center is absolutely beautiful and the main portion of it is modeled after the original communication building’s concrete squares. Another section of the Belo Center is made completely of glass and is absolutely stunning during the day. The Texas sun pours through and creates a very positive environment for productivity. Hopefully, I’ll have a class in the new building before my college days are over.
