Happy Friday, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and productive week.
Since my return to Dallas, I’ve been a busy bee getting preparations finalized for my first charity fundraiser. For nearly 10 years, my family has donated money to wounded Vietnam War veterans and their families in impoverished areas of communist Vietnam.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve taken it upon myself to help these families who live well beneath the poverty line and especially young girls as much as I possibly can. This fundraiser is one of my ways to make a big impact. The show will take place next Saturday. If you live in the Dallas area and are interested in coming or donating to the cause, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I had a meeting with the venue today to finalize some details so I wanted to wear a bright and joyful outfit to celebrate my upcoming fundraiser. Since I believe summer is all about passion and boldness, I wanted to mix coral and fuchsia together.
This silky satin top is lightweight and has great drape — perfect for summer. A trick I like to keep in mind when pairing brights on top and bottom is the softness or ease of a particular piece, whether it’s the top or bottom. This blouse is full of bold colors, but the watercolor effect feathers out the colors, making it softer so it doesn’t clash with the fuchsia pants.
I felt a crossbody bag was a bit too casual for the meeting and this outfit, so I converted it into a quilted clutch by tucking the chain-link straps inside one of the bag’s compartments. Now I have two bags in one!
Thank you so much for reading!
