Say hello to sizzle! I’ve never been a fan of bright colored nail polishes, especially the red variety. I usually lean towards nudes and pastels since I think they’re more elegant, sophisticated, and they work great on camera. Not to mention they are quite timeless. Bright nail polish isn’t all that appropriate for my chosen career. But, that was before I fell in love with Sizzle by Laura Mercier.

A vivacious red that is perfectly balanced between the orange and blue hues, Sizzle is a fantastic color for Spring, Summer and of course the winter holidays. I have worn this on my nails for two weeks in a row and I still haven’t gotten bored or had a single chip! The polish applies smoothly with a gel-like texture. In two coats, it’s completely opaque. The polish itself dries to a nice shine, but I topped with Seche Vite (I’m finishing up the bottle and won’t be repurchasing due to all the rumors about birth defects).

Sizzle didn’t take an exceptionally long time to dry. 13 minutes maximum on my end with two coats. After 13 minutes, I applied my top coat and waited two minutes before I donned my apron and began washing the dishes.

I believe Sizzle is a fabulous color for every day and can be worn for any occasion (unless you’re a broadcast journalist like me). Sizzle is incredibly versatile and can work for casual outings and formal events. I highly recommend you pick it up if you’re lacking a vibrant red in your nail polish collection. I give Sizzle 5 stars!
