I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July!!!
This was my first Fourth of July in New York City (and second out of Texas) so I wanted to go all out. I didn’t bring any sundresses, so I had to stick with my work clothes, but I still found a way to show my American pride. Playing with patterns and different textures can be really fun. At first, pairing a bold texture with an equally bold pattern can be scary, but they can work if you keep the accessories simple and let each piece shine individually. Since the polka dots are small, I’m able to pair the large texture of my top without looking overly busy. Make sure when you’re mixing patterns and textures, one is “smaller” than the other.
Jonathan and I trekked out to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Cloister Gardens today. While it was quite hot, the beauty and tranquility of the gardens made it all worth it. Below a photo of the significant view Jonathan and I saw on our way to the gardens.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my lookbook!
