Happy Monday y’all! Temps are returning to normal, so I no longer have to wear my parka. I love pops of color and this bright orange trench really jumped off the screen when I was browsing online. There is currently free shipping with code ‘FREESHIP.’ This topper, as AT calls it, doesn’t provide much warmth like my other Burberry trench coats, but I loved the color so much. Plus, at 40% off, it really doesn’t need much justification for how beautiful the color is in person. Ann Taylor calls it ‘Fire Glow Orange.’
The fabric is thick and a little on the stiffer side, so the trench will definitely hold its more modern shape.The fabric does wrinkle a bit, but after hanging overnight, the majority of the wrinkles from being shipped were gone, which I found was impressive! Anything I don’t have to steam all the time…I adore. The tailoring and fit on this jacket is quite nice. It is more of an oversized feel, to me anyway, than a more classic jacket. I also wanted to mention, it doesn’t have a belt to cinch in the waist. It does have a strap in the back, which I found doesn’t really do much, simply more of a decorative item. This trench is statement piece for sure, so I recommend pairing it with solids and sticking with a two or three color palette. I choose dark navy and black here. Orange and blue are opposites on the color wheel, so when I get the chance, I like to utilize the color-blocking techniques I learned in art class. If you’re looking for a jacket, not in the normal neutral territory, look into this one!
