Mother’s Day in a little more than a week away and it is a very special time for me. Ever since my Dad was hospitalized in 2015, our family dynamic hasn’t been the same. My Mom is truly a hero and angel wrapped up into one and takes care of him every second of every day. I am sure most of you treasure and love your Mom the way I do, so I want to share how to plan the perfect Mother’s Day brunch. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a few treats and beautiful blooms?

I’m teaming up with Anthropologie Virginia to share how to get a gorgeous table setting for Mother’s Day Brunch. First, you want to have a color scheme. I went with pastels focusing on light blues and pinks. I fell in love with the Strata dinner plate as soon as I saw it. The blue marbling is custom crafted, so each plate, bowl and ramekin is truly unique. Plus, the gold rim is swoon-worthy. Next, for a dessert plate, I chose a glazed stoneware plate inspired by minerals and geodes. The colors go beautifully together against a white tablecloth. Finally, these pale pink wine glasses keep the table feminine. I love how all of the colors come together. Also, you can go with white dinner plates and use a printed dessert plate, such as this floral one.

While there are many different outfit choices for Mother’s Day Brunch, I will be sharing two different outfit choices. First, I am sharing one that’s more form-fitting, including this halter dress. I cannot resist colorful details and this skirt was no exception. Of course, I love the different stripes because it ended up matching my table setting and the fringe trim is so fun! The white portion of the dress is very stretchy and comfortable. It’s an easy, effortless choice.

I am teaming up with an incredibly talented local boutique bakery and dessert caterer, Hummingbird Macarons for this Mother’s Day brunch. First of all, I feel so lucky to be a short 8-minute walk from delicious macarons and yummy cakes! They offer a variety of flavors and my favorites include rosewater, cappuccino and blackberry cassis. Also, Hummingbird makes everything from scratch using organic ingredients. Johnny and I love swinging in for both macarons and macaron ice cream sandwiches. Their treats really are as delicious and they are beautiful. The sweets are sure to wow your Mom and your guests.

Lastly, for a more feminine look, I am wearing a floral maxi dress with petal inspired embellishments. It has an elegant, carefree look, yet is so romantic. This dress is sheer, but there is a slip underneath with adjustable straps. Initially, I had hesitations about the fit of this dress, but it looks stunning on. Lately, I am starting to really enjoy wearing lower necklines because I don’t have to worry about “popping out.” Of course, photos really do not do this maxi justice. My blogger friend Kathryn of Jassamine Elaine and I set up this Mother’s Day brunch together. She’s wearing an equally romantic dress in a pale yellow.
