Lilac Drape Dress (similar in short sleeve), Topshop heels (old, similar here + here)
Prada Cuir tote, Ray-Ban sunnies, Kendra Scott earrings
Hello Everyone! I know it’s only February, but I’m already looking toward spring. This lilac drape dress instantly caught my eye. Almost all sizes are sold out at Nordstrom, so I recommend buying from here, where all sizes are available. The drape feature is so unique and definitely a talker. This dress evokes elegance but is also modern. It’s like a greek goddess putting a modern touch on her wardrobe. I remember the first day I wore it in the newsroom there were a lot of compliments. One of my coworkers remarking, “It looks like you are selling watches under there” referring to how the drape opens. I laughed. It has been a while since I got that many compliments on a dress. Another feature I love is the high neck, which is great for layering if it’s a chilly day.
I want to note the sleeves have a roomier fit since they are technically dolman style. The gathering around the shoulders does not bother me. The sleeves have slits at the end running about three to four inches. They run a dash long on me, but do not bother me enough to get them altered. If you love the drape feature, this dress is also available in short sleeves with a midi length skirt in two colors including lilac and hot pink. Instead of a wrap belt, the short-sleeve dress features a button sash. Online, the hue looks slightly darker and bluer. But the description says the color is lilac. Also, I spotted this dress in blouse form in a vivacious pink.
While some may consider this dress too edgy for work, I found it was just perfect. Of course, I love pushing boundaries a bit when it comes to fashion. Something to take into account when you have an edgy piece is how revealing it is. Since this dress has a very conservative cut, I knew it would be just fine.
