It is still so surreal to me. While you are reading this blog post, Johnny and I are on board a plane flying to Seoul, South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics! You may recall I mentioned in this post this is truly the trip of a lifetime. As a former competitive figure skater being able to go to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and witness history happen is indescribable. Johnny’s willingness to help make my dream come true makes me feel so loved. A few weeks ago, Bumble asked me to share what Love Equals means to me and I couldn’t think of a better example than Johnny helping me put together this trip. He knows how important going to the Olympics was to me and did everything possible to make it a reality. Love equals helping someone else’s dream come true. Here’s a short video detailing what love equals to me by Bumble.
Of course, Johnny and I wouldn’t go without some awesome gear to show everybody how proud we are of Team USA! POLO Ralph Lauren and Nike officially sponsor the athletes and make the opening and closing ceremonies garb. However, there are other great brands, including The North Face, making great Team USA gear for athletes.
I reached out to The North Face Team to tell them about my trip and they generously sent me and Johnny some awesome swag! I love how versatile this IC Nuptse Vest is. There is a slightly metallic international flag pattern on it. However, it’s subtle, which I appreciate and makes this vest easy to wear again and again. The blue star print lining is super cool. It’s 700-fill so you know it’s warm, too! This IC Nuptse Jacket is my favorite piece from the collection. Plenty of Olympians have this jacket, but that’s not the best part. It’s 700-fill so it’s super duper warm. I hate being cold and temperatures in PyeongChang and Gangneung are bitterly cold! Plus, with winds gusting more than 30 miles per hour, you want layers and warmth.
For the guys, Johnny is digging this Coaches Jacket with commemorative patches. It’s windproof and also water-repellent so there’s no problem with snow or rain. The star-print lining is ultra American and has swagger. Johnny also has a super cute Trucker Hat with an American flag emblem on the front, which I have stolen, hehe.
Of course, Johnny and I have been accumulating our gear for quite a while. We want to make sure whenever someone lays eyes on us, they know we are proudly supporting Team USA! Also, when we go to future Winter Olympics, these are pieces we can wear again!
