Happy FriYay! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 is finally here and open to the public! If In case you missed it, what I love about this sale is brand new items for fall and winter are marked down first. When the sale is over, they go back up to their suggested retail price. A lot of items are selling out quickly, even during early access. My best advice for shopping this sale is if you see something you like, buy it now. Thanks to Nordstrom’s easy free shipping and free returns, it’s easy to send back items you don’t want. In years past, I have waited on a couple items and then when I decided I want them, to my disappointment, they were gone!

Peplum Chambray Button Up (wearing XXS, in regular and petite sizing)

I got this button-up to wear for days casual weekends and when I’m on more “active” stories. Hurricane coverage particularly comes to mind, actually. The material is sooo soft and the fit is perfect. I’m wearing size XX-Small. Most regular sizes are sold out, but petite sizing has availability. Petite sizing is recommended for those 5’4 and shorter.

Gray Patchwork Cardigan (wearing US 4, fits like 0-2)
AG Jeans (this year’s version is the same wash, without distressing and is only $150!)

The gray really got me here. I am a big fan of gray because of how well it pairs with a myriad of colors. I think this cardigan is a dash south of chic, north of boho haha! The material isn’t too thick, but is still a good warmth. The length of this cardigan fits me better than the camel stripe one, which is also part of this sale. (Scroll down for photos of that one)

White Midi Dress (wearing XS, fits true to size, but a little long on me)

This ivory grid-pattern dress makes me think of Europe for some reason. It just looks so chic. I really love the off-the-shoulder neckline. However, the length is a little long on me. I’m thinking of blousing it a little with the belt. This dress has buttons all the way down, so I am opening them to give the appearance of some legs, ha!

Floral Dress (wearing XS, also in plain burgundy), Stuart Weitzman boots 40% off!

When I see the term “minidress” the petite in me jumps for joy. This dress is a great length on my 5’3 frame. Plus, the choker neckline is so on trend. The XS fits me perfectly and I have no complaints. Also, my favorite over the knee boots ever by Stuart Weitzman are 40 percent off, making them $470. I own the topo suede and black and wear them all fall and winter. Smaller sizes are selling out fast.

Velvet Jumpsuit (wearing 0 Petite, also in Regular sizing, all sizes available)

This velvet jumpsuit is the biggest hit out of the entire Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 in my opinion. To my surprise, it fits like a glove. Absolutely no alterations are needed. The crotch area is not too high or low. Plus, the hem is perfect for me with 4.5-inch heels! I recommend petite sizing for those 5’4 and shorter. I love the jewel neckline because it makes this jumpsuit conservative, but the velvet makes it sexy! This jumpsuit will be perfect for a variety of occasions including the anchor desk (for me), date night, going out with the girls or even as a little black dress alternative. To really jazz it up, wear statement earrings or jewelry.

Ruffle Crop Jacket (wearing US 2, fits like 0) | Distressed Jeans ($42!)

This ruffle crop jacket is one of my favorite purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017. Of course, the sleeves are the selling point on this jacket! I particularly love the shorter length. Plus, it’s a piece perfect for both the office and on weekends. This is currently sold out, but I believe it will restock for public access! I can see myself throwing this over a sheath dress for work. Then putting over a casual dress for the weekend. If you absolutely have to have this, there are other colors. However, they aren’t on sale. There is blush pink, black, pastel blue and more.

Adidas Pink Sneakers (Size 5.5, fits true to size!)

If I absolutely have to pick a favorite from the entire sale, it would be these pink sneakers from Adidas. These sold out soooo fast. I remember logging into the website right when the sale started, going for these sneaks first and checking out before doing any other browsing! I believe these will be back in stock for public access. A sizing note: these run true to size. Previously, I would order a size down in Adidas. My NMDs are actually a 5 and are still a dash roomy. Knotted Red Dress (wearing size 2 Petite, runs true to size, fits large on me)

Adding to my collection of work dresses is a priority for me. I try not to wear the same dress for about two weeks. The unique neckline on this dress is a definite attention grabber. Plus, it really draws attention upward to your face. I’m wearing a size 2 Petite since 0 or 0 Petite was not an option. It is a roomier fit on me, but I’m keeping it because I love it so much. If you watch my Insta Stories, you’ll remember I wore this to work the same day it arrived!

Satin Ruffle Romper (wearing XS, currently sold out)

As far as rompers go, this is one of the softest ones ever. I really like the fit of this one as it runs true to size. The length is a dash long for my liking as a petite gal, but I’m sure taller ladies will appreciate this. There is a snap button to make sure nothing accidentally pops out, too. The ruffles on this romper combined with the color make this a hit for me. I am hoping Nordstrom will restock this piece!

Plunging Lace Romper – If this looks familiar, it’s because this is the romper version of this dress I previously wore. Also comes in white (perfect for brides) and yellow!

The Legging Jean – These are probably my favorite pair of jeans, ever. Plus, at less than $150 for AG Jeans you cannot go wrong. They are available in stock in all sizes. However, they are on back order until November. Of course, they are worth the wait. I got the distressed pair during last year’s sale. I wear them over and over again because they truly are so soft and comfortable.

Drape Wrap Coat – My blush drape coat is a wardrobe staple and it’s back in a classic black. It’s a great coat to throw over work attire, but also to elevate casual looks on the weekend.

Stuart Weitzman OTK Boots – A lower, chunky heeled version of the Highland boot, these are available in a rich walnut shade and black. On sale from $800 to less than $500.

Tory Burch Riding Boot – These are a classic fall staple and when it comes to quality and comfort, you can’t go wrong with Tory Burch. Available in black and brown and in wide calf as well! These aren’t the most petite friendly, but they’re great if you want something a little more conservative than over-the-knee boots. Currently available in almost all sizes and colors.

There are so many beautiful coats this season. My favorite leather jacket is on sale in a beautiful taupe for $65. This wool wrap coat in blush is such a classic piece. I also love coats with fun details including this trumpet sleeve coat or this ruffle bottom coat. If you’re in the market for a raincoat, this polka dot one is adorable. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 is the best time to shop for denim. If you need a pair of jeans you can wear over and over, now is the time to invest, especially since prices are so low. I picked up this floral long-sleeve dress, which will transition well into fall for $46! Also, the shorter length is good for petites. Act quickly on this polka dot culotte jumpsuit! This lace choker neck dress is such a beauty and is less than $40! This olive ruffle sleeve t-shirt dress is one of those items you can throw on and head out the door in. There are sooo many good shoes on sale. Between boots, booties, flats it’s hard to pick a starting point. These pink Adidas are a must get because they’ll sell out fast. If you are looking for over-the-knee boots, I love these gray over-the-knee ones and these black ones. I’m a huge Stuart Weitzman fan and their Elevate OTK boot is on sale for 40 percent off! Also, these gray booties (also in black) are an eye catcher and will easily go with any fall outfit. Plus, if you’re hunting for rain boots, these are classics and I love the matte finish. This scallop one is available in seven colors and only $40! I’m hoping this item will come back in stock! The lace-up back on this sweater is divine and it’s only $42! This striped top is so darling and you can wear now and again in the fall. Cardigans are a cozy must have item and this one is sooo soft, but sizes are going fast. Check back often for restocks. There’s no way I could do a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 without include work dresses. Dresses make up 90 percent of my work wardrobe, so this sale is when I add a few staples. The pine color on this ruffle dress oozes fall. If you can get away with bell sleeves at work, I love this one in cobalt blue, too. I already own this gray midi dress you can dress up or down. I cannot recommend this incredible mirror enough. Yes, it’s pricey, but worth absolutely every penny and it will change your makeup game. Plus, it’s rose gold and comes with a detachable smaller one. I love love Charlotte Tilbury makeup, so her lip kit and blush palette are must haves at a such a great price.
