Hello Everyone!
I hope you’re staying warm this winter! I’m pretty fortunate to still be in Texas where our winters aren’t too frigid. One of the easiest tricks up my sleeve for staying warm and looking put together is a navy blazer and red scarf. It’s an instant style statement, making you look chic, while keeping the cold air away from your body.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been checking the tags on my clothes to see where my clothing comes from. As a first-born Vietnamese-American, I am aware of the reasons my family escaped from communist Vietnam and came to America. They left because Vietnam while is a beautiful country, it is full of oppression and lacks free speech, press, democracy and human rights. You can be jailed simply for voicing your opinion. As in other third-world countries, the factories making clothes for designers in Vietnam have horrible conditions for their workers and unfair pay and treatment.
Therefore, for the past couple years, I’ve been trying to buy pieces made in the USA or buying preowned, or as I like to call it preloved, clothing. This incredible wool blazer I’m wearing I got secondhand for an incredible deal from a consignment store in Dallas. I highly urge you, my wonderful readers, to shop secondhand and be more conscious of where your clothes come from.
Thank you so much for reading!
