Hello My Beautiful Friends!
I hope you had a beautiful weekend and lovely Mother’s Day with your Mom! I hate how I can’t be home for Mother’s Day right now since I work so far from home. During May, TV stations have “sweeps” aka when our ratings are calculated, so no time off is allowed. Since Mother’s Day is always on a Sunday, that means I can’t catch a flight back fast enough to be at work the next day.
Y’all know I love color so when I first saw this basketweave pencil skirt, my heart skipped a beat. I’ve worn this a few times, once to work and once on the weekend. I got tons of compliments and so many ladies stopped me to ask where it was from. The mint cream color features blue, navy and orange peonies, which means endless options when mixing and matching. Since orange shows up the least, I decided to pair this basketweave skirt with an orange thin, short-sleeve sweater. This skirt would look extra chic with a blouse or thin sweater in cream, light blue or navy. Since I have a less restrictive dress code, I went for the orange! But the more neutral colors would definitely tone down this skirt. I personally would refrain from mint since it would be too difficult to match perfectly. Plus, there is already quite a bit of mint in the skirt. Working in TV, I try my best to keep anything too crazy on the bottom, since usually only my waist up is seen on air. The sweater fit me perfectly, but the skirt was too big by more than an inch and a half (I got 00 Petite).
