Part of my job is sharing the best beauty products on the market with you, and after testing countless foundations, the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint remains one of my holy grails. It’s basically a three-in-one, combining coverage, SPF, and skincare into one fantastic foundation I really wanted to review for you all. The formula is very lightweight and hydrating, and leaves a dewy finish, which makes it ideal for everyday occasions. I really do wear it daily (even on our ski trip)! For reference, my shade is ST 9.5.
When it comes to application, make sure to shake the bottle before doling out a quarter-size amount into your hand and putting it on like a serum. The formula will oxidize and look a little lighter for a few seconds, then dry to the right shade. One thing I want to note in this review is it does have a scent, which I don’t mind, but those who are sensitive to fragrance might. It disappears quickly after application so don’t let that keep you from trying it out!
A favorite trick of mine is actually mixing foundations based on the kind of look you want. For my most special occasions I layer the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint on top of my La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation, which is on the pricier side but does include their famous, skin-boosting Miracle Broth. When I know I’m going to be photographed up close, I pair the La Mer with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation because it has solid coverage that truly makes your skin look airbrushed.
Although all three foundations are on my holy grail list, if I had to pick just one, it would be the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint. The combination of makeup, sunscreen, and skincare in a single product is a huge benefit for everyday application!
