It’s wild to think a little more than a month ago, Johnny and I moved into our very first home. While we got to build this home from the ground up, there are plenty of projects we need to tackle, especially in our first year! I’ll be honest: I was not expecting to make the outdoor space a priority when I originally drew up our budget and priority list. However, upon moving in, taking care of my Dad and seeing how much he truly loves to be outdoors, I changed my mind. I always wanted a blissful front yard patio where Johnny and I could drink coffee together, start our day or just read a book.

START WITH A FOCUS

I always say to start gathering inspiration photos and then see what they all have in common. Johnny and I gravitate toward simple, minimalist and modern design for our home. Of course, we don’t necessarily want it to be sterile, but we don’t like tons of extra accessories. Our front patio space is covered, which is fantastic but since we are on a corner lot, we take the weather into consideration. Having too many excess pillows and blankets out front means more to take in when it rains.

Since we love modern design, I instantly knew these white modern chairs would be perfect for our front yard patio. The aluminum-coated frame acts as the centerpiece and holds its own against our white painted brick. I love how they are wider than typical patio chairs and lightweight. I can easily carry or move these around on my own without any problem. The clean lines and simple look sold me from the beginning!

An aspect that’s a must for when it comes to outdoor furniture is all-weather cushions that are also removable. The sleek gray really offsets the white and like the chair, the cushion is lightweight. I also appreciate how the frame is UV-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about the sun changing the color of your furniture!

ADD FUNCTIONALITY

I love a beautiful aesthetic but every space in our home needs to function well or it just doesn’t work. To make our front yard patio functional, I need a table of some sort. Bed Bath & Beyond has a plethora of outdoor table options. Johnny and I love all things stone, so this square concrete coffee table was perfect. I love how it’s big enough to fit a few plates but doesn’t overwhelm the space or seem bulky.

We’ve only had this setup for a few days and we absolutely love coming out here in the morning to drink coffee. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll know we swear by this cold brew maker. It’s honestly foolproof and makes the best cold brew. The 2-quart version makes enough coffee to last us a few days and you can store it in the pitcher in the refrigerator. I love these romantic vintage tumblers and they are the perfect size for cold brew with some ice. If you’re like me, there’s even room for cream!

ACCESSORIZE

We love clean lines and minimalist looks but that doesn’t mean we don’t like to accessorize. Can your blissful front porch be complete without a rug? I don’t think so. Rugs can be a little difficult, but Bed Bath & Beyond has a great variety of all-weather rugs! I chose this gorgeous diamond-pattern indoor outdoor rug. It’s affordable and makes the perfect statement! It’s the perfect blend of our patio chairs and concrete coffee table. I love how it’s super soft and the pile is on the lower side.
